"chased the ladies" . . .all the f'd up euphemisms we still endorse through repetition for the misdeeds of men who very much know better and have sworn duties to another. Meanwhile, an unmarried woman (no duties, no sworn promises of fidelity, still "free") will "step out of line" and she's maligned in every which way. 🤢🤮

  • @knowmusicman157

@@blackeyedsusan727 Disagree. Every unmarried woman is not free to help any married man to break his vows and obligations. She knows he belongs to his wife and children. Yet she, in her so called freedom, commits adultery with him anyway. She is free to maintain her own self respect, virtue, honor and integrity. And tell him to go home to his wife. The unmarried woman should pledge and promise fidelity to herself, her parents, and most importantly, to God. She has a duty to herself, her virtue, and her future husband.

Jacqueline's ability to control her future was masterfully displayed after Kennedy died. She married Onassis as more of a business arrangement. He gave her financial freedom from the Kennedys. He put an ocean between Jackie and the kids and America She gave him status, allure, and probably the occasional conjugal visit. She earned every penny of it.

@@kristatrenaryYou are right. Charles was in love with Camilla. His father insisted that he find a woman to marry. Diana knew that he didn't love her. She and Charles were a disaster waiting to happen. She was extremely insecure, and very troubled by her parent's divorce. Diana is adored now, but she was a very difficult young woman to deal with. She spoiled her sons, especially Harry. She tried to make them hate their father. Charles loved his sons very deeply, and made sure they knew it. I'm glad that Charles and Camilla are together now. William loves them both, and understands why his beloved mummy was not perfect. I just wish Harry would see the reality, that he married a Diana clone.

Yes. Ordinary people don't understand this level of power and money in these iconic families. They're not just an ordinary Mom and Pop shop on the corner. They're an institution. It is the same thing with the Royal Family heirs in England whose pockets are even deeper. You get married when they say so if you're next in line for the throne. Actually with John Kennedy, it was his older brother who was originally tagged and bred to be the first of the Kennedys to run for president, but he was killed in WW2. So Jack's days of sowing his oats were cut short - so to speak. He was never a faithful husband. But who is?

Yes Jackie Kennedy was a very well known cultural ambassador of the United States,She used her foreign language skills in French, Spanish and Italian and cultural knowledge to speak to foreign audiences in their native languages as well as establish strong relationships with foreign leaders. She was awarded the French Legion of Honor, the highest civilian award given by the French Government, becoming the first First Lady and first American woman to win.

Dont ever compare Malania to Jacki Kennedy. They are not in the same category. Besides, Jackie really knew a few languages fluently while she was an American with speaking perfect English. Malania knew her mothers tongue only, she is still trying to understand English. She can say hello and goodbye in other languages as most do but she is not fluent in any languages except her own and somewhat English.

Joe Kennedy’s didn’t only say it was time to get married….he said Jack had to get married or voters would think he was homosexual. At that time, practically everybody married young, in their early twenties. Jack had been wounded in the war, which dovetailed nicely with all of his myriad health conditions, so his lack of a wife could be explained by saying marriage was Lion hold” for the time being. However, smears of homosexuality were easily made by starting a whispering campaign that would eventually be picked up by major newspapers, and the family’s PR machine would have to spend valuable time trying to suppress it. The most direct way was for Jack to get married to a woman “Pappy” would approve of.

Yes, very nice this lady is still vibrant to tell story of Jack & Jackie. She and her husband set them up at their house for dinner. I saw doc too that Jackie hated her wedding dress. She did not pick it, it was in the family. Plus she wanted a smaller intimate wedding with their close friends and relatives. But Joe Sr. was in control of everything and he invited many people in politics and press and famous that Jaqueline did not even know. Joe Sr. wanted their wedding to be the wedding of the time so it was all filmed and for publicity. Joe Sr. wanted Jack to become President and Joe Sr. knew Jack needed to have a wife to be respectable to get elected. Joe Sr. had first wanted Joe Jr to become President but he was killed when his jet blew up. So Joe Sr second choice was son Jack. Like the beautuful pearl necklace of young woman asking questions here.

Papa Joe told Jack if you don’t get married people are going to gossip and think maybe somethings not right with you back then being a chronic womanizer skirt, chaser wasn’t considered a political liability. It was not having a wife and kids like everybody else that would make people take a second look at you and wonder if you could honestly and genuinely relate to or understand the lives of the people you represent you would think the fact that he was from a wealthy and politically powerful and well-connected family would be enough to separate him from and distance him from the concerns of average American family this was back when politicians were not expected to be living like multi millionaire Rockstars living in their own separate reality, where none of them ever go to the grocery store or drive, their own cars, let alone going to the gas station. And having to make life decisions based on how much they can afford to put in the tank.

I think Jackie married Onassis for the security of her children. If she was without children I think she wouldn't have been envoled with him. After the assination of JFK he swooped in as her friend took her and the kids on his yacht where they were protected from all the maddness of the media and news speculation. He protected them and gave them a safe place to heal. I think he offered her protection for life for herself and kids. What a mother wouldn't do to protect her children. So sad what happened to her son & daughter in law.
