Honestly, poor woman. You lose your eldest to war, your next two sons to assassinations. Your eldest daughter is subjected to a medical procedure you never gave consent for that destroys her. Like, how much grief can one woman bear? Her and Ethel Skacel… man. You’ve got to be a powerful person with fortitude beyond comprehension not to be utterly consumed by grief.

I think Rosemary should count as part of the curse. Her initial mental delays were caused by a botched birth that left her brain without oxygen for a time which caused her future behavioral problems. She then had the lobotomy so not to have those behavioral problems interfere with her brother's political careers. She may not have died from it but it sounds pretty cursed to me.

If you watch "Grey Gardens", you'll see they call each other big/little Eee-die, not Ed-ie, same as most people shorten the common pronunciation of Edith. Also, it's "You-niss" for Eunice, not how you were saying it "You-neice".

Rosemary should be considered a close-call case because of how bad her lobotomy went and how she survived through the instutionalisation and had sympathetic family on the other side.

You skip over Patricia Kennedy and Peter Lawford's oldest son Actor and Drug Addiction Activism Christopher Lawford. While he spent a lot of his youth addiction to drugs, he became clean and was an actor on the soap opera All My Children as Charlie Brent. Later o he became a writer and a world drug addiction advocate. He died in 2018 of a heart attack.

He also had a role in "13 Days" the Cuban missile crisis film starring Kevin Costner. Lawford portrayed the naval aviator Cmdr William Ecker who was sent in on a low level surveillance flight over Cuba during the crisis. He gave an excellent performance, sad that he died so young.

Rfk jr's son with Richardson is Connor Kennedy, who is onow to have dated Taylor Swift, so i gues that makes her an unoficial part of the family tree as well. He would later serve as a volunter in Ukraine

Re: the supposed curse. If a family has that many members, a certain percentage will die early, also a certain percentage won't. It's not likely in my little family with 2 siblings and only one child. If a family has that many politicians, they're going to take more plane trips than any average family.

When my dad was a young man, he once caddied for Jackie O., while she was golfing at the country club where he worked. He said that she was dignified, had impeccable manners, was very kind, and that she tipped generously, unlike many of the wealthy people that golfed there. It was either in Massachusetts or Rhode Island (we're New Englanders), but I don't know which country club/golf course he worked at, at the time. For a while, he worked at the Pleasant Valley Country Club; it may have been there, but I don't know for sure..

The history is fascinating enough. The lurid overlay detracts more than adds.

They were probably so rich that they were able to take many plane rides. Probability.

Also not so fun fact Ethel Skakel Kennedy's nephew Michael were accused of killing Martha Moxley. He was convicted in the 2000s but got out on appeal. My mom;s friend found Martha's body. My mom says Michael did it, but my aunt is convinced his brother Tommy did it. So yeah

Pat did have a well known child. Her son Christopher Lawford was an actor. I remember him from All My Children and he was also in Blankman.

If I was a member of this family, I would never get on a plane or go skiing again

Great video Matt. Joe Kennedy III seemed to be on the rise in Massachusetts a few years back. I think he erred by taking on the incumbent Democratic Senator from Ed Markey. Ed became the first politician to beat a Kennedy in Mass, on a pretty grand stage nonetheless. Ed is an effective and popular Senator and Joe may have overplayed his hand in taking him on when he did. I think he may have had more success taking on Elizabeth Warren but maybe he didn't want to wait a few more years because of Presidential ambitions or maybe he didn't want to take on another Harvard elite.

Jack Schlossberg looks like the type of guy who’d break your hand in a handshake. Somehow I think of that as a positive

Her dad did attend the funeral. Nobody else was ashamed of the affair other than her mother. Her siblings didn’t attend the funeral because JFK who was supposed to plan their plane tickets broke down and couldn’t bring himself to go. Later on they did visit her grave and stayed close with the Cavendish family.

there's a kennedy dynasty in other independent fiefdoms of the historical british isles plus I think the butler dynasty claimed ormonde eventually in ireland and was it shared...anyway irish kennedys were grouped according to hair colour i.e. the red kennedys, etc.. another thing is peerage for ormonde exists in the british system also

sometimes Kennedy is spelled with one 'd' and two 'n', and sometimes in this video, it is spelled with two 'd' and one 'n'. Was that a translation error or perhaps different branches of the family went with different spellings in the time before modernization? Or perhaps just a typo?
