This is how I put it ; 😋 Marshall sound like I’m in a saloon getting a haircut in Brooklyn, fun and so live Pnyx sound like I’m having a party in a fancy condo in downtown LA Both speakers compliments the easy listening songs and ambient surroundings. PS; Marshall design neat, Onyx compliments the modern taste in big city life. Uit! Oslo? I agree with you = Onyx

I,m listening your review FROM my Stockwell two! I,m hearing a very warm and smooth base , can even here the sound difference between the Stockwell versus the onyx....so to me the Stockwell is a GREAT compact and thus portable speaker, with almost " high End" sound, so for me the clear winner IS the Stockwell for it's intended use, namely as a really portable high end speaker for little money, the onyx has its purpose for Shure but tot me the Stockwell wins,

I own the Stockwell II and love it dearly, but no question, the Onyx sounds better, wider, less like a small box, nicer treble and highs, very noticeable with the first track especially. Bass is weaker due to the size of course. But hard to beat the compactness of the Stockwell (the Onyx is more than twice as big, and a lot more unwieldy thanks to the round form), the wonderful design, USB-C, no "Bluetooth hiss". The Stockwell II sounds still very good for its size, the only complaint would be that it's not very loud and you have it to run at around 8 to fill a mid-sized room as mentioned in the review. If I had no consideration for size the Onyx would be it for sure (or Vifa Copenhagen if money wasn't a consideration too, let's be real), but on a two week trip, with an already tightly packed case? The Stockwell II will fit easily and will be good enough for the hotel room, to make the sound of movies from the laptop/tablet good, serve as great white noise machine (very dim red lights allow you to use it at night even if you are very sensitive to light like me) and entertain you for two days without recharging. And it can still make enough good sound for a small pool party. At the size of a big paperback book.

Thanks for your comment, really appreciate it. we are actually on the same page and I totally agree with you. my comparison videos are actually focused more on sound quality and that's why I picked the Onyx 4 as my winner, also looking at Price to performance ratio the Onyx is quite hard to beat. However if I had to consider all those points you rightly listed including battery life and form factor (which are also as important when choosing a speaker) it is clear the Stockwell II would be the winner at least in my little opinion. its just 2 different speakers for different audio needs.

Since I travel a lot and stay in hotels and Airbnb's, the Stockwell 2 will be my choice here since it's sound will be way better that of my laptop or phone , and it will fit nicely into my laptop bag. The Stockwell 2 would also probably me more at home at the beach than the Onyx 4 would.

My vote goes to the marshall definitly

vinyls are not high quality, they are the lowest medium of music storage and are extremely fragile, so the texture or “pur” as you call it is actually a defect. plus, sound quality is about replicating the audio to sound as when it was produced wait, are you talking about the horn sound??? BRUH THATS WORSE

The Marshall definitely was crispier with its highs... that makes it sound a bit thinner though. The HK heavier bass made the rock sound muddier to me.

    ambas muito boas. porém indiscutível o melhor custo X beneficio da HK. Studio 4 a R$ 1.000 e Marshall a R$ 4.200 inviável.

TBH, they both sounded awful and fatiguing through iMac internal speakers. While the Onyx had slightly better bass, the treble was tinny and the overall sound was hollow. And the Vifa Oslo sounded more musical than either of them...ouch, I just looked up the price! I did listen to a vintage Proton 300 which I'm guessing destroys all of these (and for less money) but it's just a traditional AM/FM radio. I'd love to get that same sound out of a wireless speaker.

treble isn’t meant to cancel out with that effect they use, so im a little worried about open high hats. treble is directional and lots of things normally block it. bass and mids will sound extremely clear though

Turned up the treble too much on the Marshall, but it sounds nice otherwise. Would be cool to turn off the effect, but it works for making the speaker not sound like a box.

THe harmon pardon is like the jbl, and Sony speakers.. their good at everything, but Marshall is specially good at rock.. It shines at rock, it keeps the clearly of the instruments at higher volumes with out sacrificing clarity and bass. Whereas the harmon pardon can't bring than clarity when its pushed to higher volumes
