About Marshall Rosenberg
Marshall Rosenberg (October 6, 1934 - February 7, 2015) was best known for initiating peace programs in war torn areas including Rwanda, Burundi, Nigeria, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, the Middle East, Serbia, Croatia, and Ireland. A clinical psychologist, he was the founder and director of educational services for the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC), an international nonprofit organization that offers workshops and training in 30 countries. Dr. Rosenberg is the author of Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life.

I'm immersed in study of the NVC teachings. I learned today that he passed in 2015 and this has caused my heart deep sadness. But it also emboldens me on my mission to carry his work and teachings into the future. ❤

He had such a great message. Thanks for carrying on his work with so many of us, Jana.
A new way of using words can frighten people, but I found that once they understand that my intention is to create a dialogue that gets much better results than the language we often use, they are more willing to put up with the "weird" way of talking.
This is the first time I've heard this kind of process and communication. I'm a psychotherapist and have been for years. I am grateful to Marshall for his work and teachings, and I'm now going to do one of his courses. I know I have struggled with communication even though I trained in many different disciplines. I'm definitely going to create this as a new way to connect. I hope I can do this. It's truly amazing and wonderful to hear so many stories and people being affected by this way of connection.

There's definitely such as thing as Soy-boy authoritarianism that would make people dance on delicate eggshells, or they are accused of being impure witches. Civil liberties can easily get lost in all this.

@@equinox1976 Interesting, because he starts his comment here by saying; "when he's ATTACKED", so he might already primed to BE the victim and and others are the "vile violent people". This kind of thinking prime for using the state (if they can) to oppress or do away with those they already believe are beneath them in ethics and what not.

Of course you can do it! Remember that it is your nature to be compassionate, and NVC’s tools will help you call it forth. It’s a process anyone can learn. You can even practice NVC without ever uttering a word.

Thank you for your beautiful comments, Sa. Marshall Rosenberg is one of my favorite authors at Sounds True. He will be missed. Though I am glad his insights live on through video.

Not “ chubby”. The tummy is swollen from ascites, which is excess fluid. A frequent symptom in many cancers.
