Beautiful episode family, as Always ofcoz . I'm not married yet but I'm a big lover and advocate for this beautiful _God_ordained_ institution so much that I usually 'tease' God that , should Jesus return before I get married then I will have to be allowed to marry in heaven, because really marriage is such a deep mystery that I we should each be honoured to experience. But I'm also one of those who adopted the narrative of 'Marriage is hard' , I align to this narrative because I have observed that part of the reason for many young divorces are because couples went in not knowing how much the institute requires selflessness, forgiveness, servings ect. So yeh to Mr Lerato's point I agree ,let's empower while balancing it with tips on how to win this war and also being positive about how Precious this gift is coming from our Heavenly Father and that there is sufficient grace to make it.

Really enjoyed this conversation I'm guilty of sometimes downplaying the blessing that my marriage is. I think because you don't want it to seem like the solution to everything and also people used the title to shame others. But honestly if I had a do-over I will still choose to get married because it has challenged but also blessed me so much.

I think Phetola saying she will get married again and Lerato saying he will not get married again we can see both answers positively. She would want to get married again because the current marriage is healthy Spiritually and emotionally so obviously she has faith in marriage and hoping to find someone better again.. He wouldn't want to get married again because of the fear that maybe I might loose this one as well or not find someone like her again. You guys are so blessed and please cherish what you have it is rarer to find partner who understand you, communicate openly, sacrifice and compromise everything for their marriage to work.

Hi @@eyethumfazwe, sure. I spent a lot of time reflecting on the institution of marriage and how it aligns with my values. Considering that I spent a significant part of my life catering to those around me, I had to start operating from an intentional place. So I intend to spend the rest of my life on personal development, and self-actualization. What matters to me now is my joy; spending time with myself, improving my relationship with God, and contributing to social impact makes me genuinely happy. I've always known that I'm a non-conformist so I'd feel claustrophobic whenever I tried to fit into societal boxes. And this phase of my life allows me to tap into my truth. Also, I'm quite visual so I have to envision something before I move. The picture of my best life doesn't include a husband. My life is full; I am living out my purpose, and I am genuinely happy. I trust this answers your question.

Truth is some people have had horrible experiences with selfish partners both male and female, and that has breaded bitterness. Couple's backgrounds have affected their outlook and behaviour in marriages. I'm 9yrs married and based on my experiences in marriage, I've looked at social media displays of marriage and at times i would be like yhuuuu some girls are lucky (referring to areas mine lacks in). I have also viewed other peoples marriage displays (GBV, etc) and i think some of us are fortunate to not have met this treatment.

That's why I'm not speaking those cliche vows , spoken in church. For better for "worse", for richer for "poorer" in "sickness" and in health. No sickness, poorer, worse is coming out of my mouth🤨. I'm not speaking that over my marriage.

This was such a thought provoking installment. Forced hubby to watch it with me coz he doesn't like watching couples content 😂but he thoroughly enjoyed this episode and we were able to discuss it a bit afterwards. So thank you guys! 🥰

😮 oooh guys. I don't even know what to say. You guys are very wise, God's wisdom all over you. I am just going to say i am not sure how people who are not rooted in Christ cope with marriage. Without him "e boima ntwee, ha e nyake chance takers"😅 What I have learned in the 06 years of marriage is that the institution gives you integrity... seriti. O a hlomphega if you continue to respect the marriage yourself. You are no longer wa strata and people treat you as grootman in a case where you are guy. All of a sudden you are seen as good advisor for relationships or new marital problems. In my own 2 cent observation is that mahlatse le mahlogonolo eba a mantši because 2 has become one. Blessings continue to multiply as compared to when you are one. Also having a life time friend whom you know where you stand with him, can call at anytime to gossip with is a blessing. It's a good one, go monate, I recommend it 💯 and would do it again in my next life.
