"Marriage Is Modern Death Sentence For Men" | Pearl Davis vs James Whale

The traditional institution of marriage is facing a decline in modern society, with fewer than 50% of adults opting to tie the knot. This shift raises questions about the future of relationships and family life. Some argue that marriage as we know it is already dead, with the average marriage lasting only seven to eight years. The rising divorce rates and challenges faced by men in the family court system are also contributing to the changing attitudes towards marriage.
This discussion around marriage and relationships has sparked debates about gender roles, feminism, and societal expectations. Some believe that men are facing increasing challenges in the current landscape, with issues like infidelity and lack of intimacy being brought to the forefront. Others argue that women have more freedom and choices in the dating world, leading to a shift in power dynamics within relationships.
Pearl Davis: "Marriage is a modern death sentence for men. In the future, there will be a lot of single parents, and a lot of people without children."

As a man that has gone through divorce, I can fully attest that the courts are FULLY behind the women. I once spent over an hour in court and was being grilled non-stop by the judge. After literally 55 mins I straight asked the judge if she was going to ask my ex wife ANY questions at all??? The judge asked TWO questions and then closed the court session. It was unbelievable. My ex had emptied ALL the money, home assets, everything. When I protested that I had NOTHING, the judge just dismissed me saying if I didn't like it I would have to formally object. The legal fees were enormous. The ex had no problem paying as she had all the money! I will NEVER get married again. It's a rigged system against men. 100%.

Was married for over thirty years, kids grown up and left home. She had an affair so I initiated divorce proceedings. Despite being told there would be a 50/50 split of assets it ended up being 75% in her favour. What I was told was that she’d given up her career to support me in mine and that’s why she ended up with a more generous settlement. Additionally, I had to pay £1600 a month in spousal maintenance so she could sit on her backside and do nothing to support herself. In most cases courts are biased in favour of the woman regardless of the cause of breakdown in the relationship.

If we've had a bad day and he's driven me mad, before I go to sleep at night, I get out an after-shave stick from my bedside drawer. This fragrance instantly "transports" me back in time to our twenties when we were madly in love. He was tall dark and handsome and had a voice like Gregory Peck. I have always felt safe in the world with him. I was a blonde 5ft 2" (5ft 6" with my high-heels on). We made quite a glamorous couple then and loved being together. He always wore that particular after-shave (still made today) and that fragrance reminds me of how happy I was to marry him back then. I got the man of my dreams - and mustn't forget that, despite the onset of old age.

I skipped marriage, I retired a multimillionaire at age 40. All my friends are either divorced or in the process of divorce, and basically broke. They all spent their time and money renovating houses for their wives and vacations, then when divorce happened she took it all. I spent my time sleeping with random women when I wanted to, and the rest of my time was building a real estate portfolio and a business. I still enjoyed great sex, lots of fun memories, but I also built something that is making my life better today. All that time you spent with your ex-wife is a total 100% waste, you'll curse those memories and hate them after a nasty divorce. All that time you could have been building a business, making money, etc. When you consider the real cost in terms of your time and how much $ she stole in the divorce, a failed marriage costs MILLIONS for the average guy.

It could be solved easily. The government needs to stop paying people to abandon their families. Stop telling people it's ok. Currently people get divorced because they "aren't happy" and the government steps in to help raise their kids. They could say: no welfare if both parents are alive and don't live together. We could all say "stop being selfish and put your kids first. Who cares if you are happy. They could say: outside of abuse... the one who initiates divorce automatically loses custody of the kids. We should all stop promoting and incentivizing dysfunctional behavior. We didn't used to have this problem. Raising a child took two parents. It still does.

Unless we believe that our Father sent His Beloved Son Jesus Christ to take the Sin of each and every human being, Jesus was obedient until death on the cross, it is done ! but death could not hold him for HE rose again and is seated by HIS Father in heaven, HE is coming again very soon . Our sin separated us , but through the blood of Jesus Christ we can be reconciled to Our Lord by admitting we are a sinner and asking for forgiveness of our sins and we can be followers of Jesus Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit and Baptised total submission under water, death to our old life and all our sin washed away as we come out from the water a new Born Again follower of Jesus Christ ! Children needs a father and mother (preferably within a stable marriage) to grow up a balanced (or as far as possible) person. As for social media - you can make a choice - you can allow it to control you, or you can do the controlling. I have a old small dumb "Moses phone" (Nokia). I cannot even take a photo. However, I do have a goodish Canon camera with a 300 mm lens. And yes, a laptop to do something more that my old Moses phone. I've decided to experience reality through what I do and not through social media.

Americans are so naive. Here in Germany a formal marriage isn’t longer necessary to apply marriage laws. Marriage was extended to “cohabitation” in 2008. If you just live together without marriage, same laws apply. Furthermore the justice department reversed the burden of proof, so you have to prove if you didn’t live together.

Most of the young men I know including my sons think women should be contributing to the family income, although I couldn’t we just went without. Women can’t have it all and men have to realise this as well, plus don’t look down on women who stay at home to look after their kids.

Watching the majority of marriages puts me off the idea, too many are full of bitterness and friction, then there's divorce. Marriage started as a practical arrangement with a reason to do it; love was not necessary. Romanticism appealed to peoples loneliness with the idea of a soulmate to complete them. Unfortunately no two people are the same. People marry to try and meet their needs, not to sacrifice themselves for another. If people didn't think a marriage would improve their own wellbeing nobody would do it. The last divorced man I spoke to described it as 'like non terminal cancer.'

"There is nobody nastier and more cruel to a woman than other women". Well you've actually touched a good point, here. I'll give you one specific example taken from my working experience. It's still part of our Mediterranean culture (I'm Italian) that a good number of women think that being medically seen and treated by female doctors (especially gynecologists) could be better for them. I'm a male gynecologist and I can assure you that in my career I've seen dozens of women who (for their admission, plus who knows how many had not told me..) had to 'escape' a female gynecologist who had treated them unfairly (arrogance, condescendance, bad explanations, painful examinations etc.). Some of these patients were even health practitioners, eg nurses. Who knows what triggers such unprofessional, bad behaviors of women vs. other women; Sigmund Freud must have had some clues for explaining.

Over the 10 years she was supposed to pay I took her to court 5 times for failure to pay. All 5 times the judge took sympathy with her... I finally just ga e up pursuing what she owed.
