This performance was just all over the place. In theory, Maroon 5 headlining the halftime show should have worked, but their setlist had no flow from beginning to end and there were many random moments that looked like an after thought. They left out a lot of hits that would've worked better for the Super Bowl. (One More Night, Payphone, Cold, Makes Me Wonder, Don't Wanna Know, etc.) They should've left out She Will Be Loved, Sugar, and Travis Scott all together. Outkast should've been the only guest and they could've performed (Hey Ya, Ms. Jackson, So Fresh So Clean, The Way You Move, and Elevators) Two great bands, one missed oppurtunity.

It honestly lacked a theme. There was so many genres: pop, rock, gospel, rap, hip hop. Too much nonsense not meshing together. They used SpongeBob to introduce Travis Scott of all people??? Where’s the Sweet Victory tribute to the creator who tragically passed away? Travis was there just for the NFL to say look Atlanta here’s a rap artist we got last minute that not even from the ATL who decided not to boycott us, who clearly needs his voice auto tune.

I am honestly so pissed they didn’t do sweet victory, like it would’ve been a great tribute to Stephen Hillenburg and just an overall great performance. but the NFL was dumb and showed sponge bob for like two seconds instead

Dislike count is rigged: still not even a million dislikes. NFL took this video down and uploaded it again since there were so many dislikes originally. And yes I did use “NFL” and “rigged” in the same comment although refers to something that isn’t the game itself, which was also bad. And I thought I was having technical issues the way Travis Scott gets censored.

At least the NHL and Dallas Stars actually played it during a game. Which just reconfirms why I watch hockey over football.

I think they misunderstood us. They probably thought we wanted SpongeBob in the Super Bowl. We wanted Sweet Victory as a tribute to Stephen Hillenburg. That was so disrespectful

@@Iceify_ Yeah. As someone who used to be a big fan of M5, it really isn't a great song and was (and is still) so overplayed. The golden era of M5 is long gone. Moves Like Jagger is the song where they ceased to be a rock band, or band of any kind for that matter. I will admit they still had some good songs for the next few years but after Sugar they really took a nosedive. I don't know anyone who likes their music after Sugar. Girls Like You was just meh, What Lovers Do just got boring after the first few listens, and the last album was just awful. As for the show, it was just a weird combination of acts and it didn't mix well. They would've been fine as separate acts but I don't know why they thought it'd be a good idea to put the two together. It'd be like serving chips and salsa with spaghetti. Those two items are both good on their own but they do not go together.

They had it set to M for Maroon five, but they should have set it to W for Wumbo. :(

The target audience is not 16-24 year old memers it's sadly targeting people into rap to come back to watching football (many people stopped watching football recently, Travis Scott was used to try and reel them back) in turn they ended up getting more hate then people coming back to watch.

Yeh massive negative feedback from the nerd high schoolers online? There’s millions of people around the country/around the world who appreciated the short honorary video and didn’t feel the need to have a sook online. These performances are organised months in advance, before the petition to add sweet victory came out.
