u are obviously entitled to ur own opinion :) and i do agree that this version is a lot more unique, raw, and emotional. but i don’t think the original is inferior. ariana put a lot of meeting into it and she naturally does a more stylized, breathy, and ethereal vocal performance in most of her songs which is why you can’t understand the lyrics as well on that style. but then again it’s ur opinion on which one seems more pleasurable, i just wanted to preface that :)

That's definitely why I prefer miley, Ariane skips the "picking it up" parts when she sings it live, she only does the belts. It takes a lot of voice control to make those switches as smooth as miley does. She doesn't need back up singers to do it for her.

I feel like Miley's version have more heart and soul poured into it.

she’s really naturally pretty!!! She looks so good with her hair straight/long and a natural look. Simple outfit and she looks + sounds amazing

her annunciation is so crisp and perfect. her country roots and slight accent accentuates every word she sings.

This cover is so incredibly beautiful and passionate. I felt all the feels because of the the depth she has in her voice, and the instrumentals add to the emotion. I am absolutely in love with this version. I think Miley is one of the best vocalists of this generation!

Miley's voice just blows me away every time, and this arrangement was perfect. The moody cellos vamping over the verse are insanely good.

Miley Cyrus is such a talented artist, whether you like her or not, her range and ability to switch from different music genres puts me in awe.

Finally somebody covers this song without using falsetto! Edit: Nothing wrong with using falsetto for this song, it's just that when people do it, it's too close to the original. At least Miley put her own spin on it.

I can’t believe how stunning she looks… I mean I can, but WOW! 🙌🏼 Such a beautiful and unmatched voice. One of the few celebrities that I’d actually love to spend time with.

She gives so much emotions in this, you can literally feel it through the song :‘)

Remember when Miley, Lady Gaga, Kesha, etc we’re all hated for being weird and controversial? And now look at them, they’re loved. I guess my point is, when you’re receiving nothing but negativity from the world, just know it’s not the end and you will eventually find positivity and support again.
