I love the intentional breaks in her voice. It's a really beautiful way to portray emotion.

It's a song about desire and longing for someone, not sad. This sort of ballad approach doesn't work as far as I'm concerned. The original composition has a certain tempo to it that suggest a sexual rhythm.

The original song : make me want to go to a bar and drink until i have a one night stand The cover dua Lipa did : make me want to sit in the couch with a glass of wine The cover hozier did : make me want to get drunk with a bottle of whiskey and cry

Christina Grimmie's version is like a Pure girl turning bad for her ex. Smashing things on her table asking the "Why's".

Her timbre is uniquely suited to the dance idiom. She's got a great sense of rhythm. Almost like a sexy and chilled out Bill Withers-esque control of phrasing.

I agree, I wished they slowed it down a tad to make the chorus stand out more. You can hear her breathing so harshly on that mic. It takes away from the performance having to hear her try to keep up with the pianist when it should be the other way around.

Am I the only one that when I listen to this cover it has breakup sadness song vibe in it. It is different from the original bcs it is so much sexier and sultry whereas this one has like kinda song u listen when u just broke up with ur bf and u want to get back but u couldnt. Both versions potrayed a different scene
