Mark Price Makes 20 of First 22 3-Pointers (1994)
Спорт
February 12, 1994 - Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mark Price connected on 20 of his first 22 3-pointers in the final round of the 1994 NBA 3-Point Shootout, easily clinching his second consecutive shootout crown in the process and carving out his place among the contest's all-time greats.
Price reached a score of 24 with three shots remaining, needing just to his just of his final three attempts to tie the all-time original format record for points in a round (25, by Craig Hodges in 1986). Perhaps feeling a semblance of pressure and/or fatigue, Price each of his last three shots, settling for 24 points in total and securing an 11-point win over eventual runner-up Dana Barros.

@@LeHitler Today's game? You mean undersized garbage like Trae Young dropping near 30ppg? You mean garbage like Westbrook (hits nothing but backboard on shots) getting MVP? You mean Harden who does nothing but traveling stepbacks dropping 36 ppg. You mean garbage like Lonzo Ball and Zion Williamson being top picks (and now more garbage like Wembanyama hyped up)? Kid (I could tell by your horrific music taste), you are either clueless or trolling (especially with your tasteless screen name). *Mark would have toasted today's league with his handles, pullup, and pure shot.*

@@LeHitlerdon’t drink & comment - you know better, Mein Fueher. Mark Price shot ~49% from 3-pt in his second year and STILL holds the greatest ft% record. Add to that he actually attacked the basket with great finishing ability and his game was BUILT for today’s game. Custom made.
I remember just starting to play basketball in 1994 and watching Price to learn proper shooting technique.

Same here! I recorded this and hit pause/rewind so many times trying to get his form down. Most beautiful shooting form I've ever seen.
Mark Price was so freaking great man. Best Cavs years.
this guy has an insane release

That was my man when I was a kid for the three-pointer
That top of the key row was insane
The best point guard! I'm a big fan of Mark Price. The best in 3 points too
*The most criminally underrated NBA legend of all time*
Perfect form
I know the injuries and the relatively short period of his prime means that he's a borderline HOF case but my goodness, GET HIM IN already. His impact on the game is so much larger than his raw numbers, which are impressive enough.

And he was on the same team as Chris Dudley. It felt like Dudley hit about 10%. Whatever the stats say, the dude missed both every time, whereas price was nigh automatic. I miss the Colosseum.
Steve Kerr can tell you himself, Mark Price was an excellent shooter.
Top 50 player all time. Doesn't get his props. One of the best ever.

Top 50? Dafuq are you smokin'?! Price was damn skilled, yes, but he was hurt for a good chunk of his career, so his stats don't quite match up for that. Also, I think he got past the second round in the playoffs maybe once in his career. LeHitler (ugh, the name 🙄) is definitely selling Price short, though, as he's a Top 30 PG.

@@Deined I'll take Jalen Brunson now over Mark Price at his peak. Give me Grizzlies Mike Conley over him too. The guy was a great shooter. That's where the buck stops. Back then you can be a one dimensional specialist, you gotta be versatile now.

@@LeHitler Eh, the only real edge Brunson and maybe Conley have on Price is scoring. Along with his shooting, Price had a better career defensive rating and was _definitely_ a better playmaker. I'm guessing you didn't see Mark Price play.
1 of the great pg's. way ahead of his time. basically invented the split too
The price is right.

he shot those last three with his eyes closed.

I remember when he played UTC at the Roundhouse when he was on Georgia Tech's team. He destroyed the Mocs! That was in 85.I was at the Health Dept then & one of the Moc players that had to try and guard Price, came in for a " check - up", and said that he had never seen anyone else that could stop on a dime and knock down 3"s all day. He was then taken by the Cleveland Cavs before he became a left wing politician/ coach.

But he couldn't play today because contemporary fans who never saw him play and probably never even heard of him would say he couldn't play today. Nuff said.

He's undersized & would get abused on the defensive end so badly, his shooting wouldn't matter. He also can't create for himself or others. He's just a spot up shooter which isn't enough. That's Matt Ryan in a nutshell.
