But I do remember one time many years ago and it was funny. Mark come over the radio and said. What you think Ford will say if I help a Chevrolet win this race. Evidently they were all up front and one of the other Ford drivers had pissed him off and the only other one was a Chevrolet. 😂

Mark is one of the best, on and off the track! Will always be one of my favorites. So cool to hear him mention Wayne Brooks. Had the pleasure of competing with Wayne in the late 90's in modifieds around Texas and Louisiana. Wayne and a few others were running V6's and whipping everyone's butt.

Mark Martin is an OG influencer. Not like the superficial consumer-oriented social media influencers of today; rather he's someone that demonstrates what hard work, determination, and respect can earn you. I had a poster of Mark in my son's room (titled Determination) from birth through when he left for college. He's not a big race fan, but has learned to appreciate hard work and the importance of earning your way. Thanks Mark for all you continue to give us, and to Kenny for a great conversation with one of the best people in our sport! It was great to hear y'all are all right and hearing your perspectives on occasion help keep us on an even keel. Way to go, Herm!

I'm a huge Mark Martin got a lot of cars, shirts, and a few coats. Mark was my cup driver Kenny loved watching your bush racing days. I remember you at the rock and the red dog beer car. Listening to you on the scanner talking about how loose the car was five laps later you were in the wall. You had a lot of great races Kenny!! Rockingham was one of my favorite tracks It's a shame it doesn't come back. So glad to see these videos brings back so many memories. I got into the pits at Rockingham with the press pit pass and got to walk Mark Martin to pit road what a treat. It was a race where it washed out on Sunday got pushed over to Monday. Mark won the bush race and the Winn-Dixie car that weekend got one of those too. I was at Rockingham for the Ward Burton Dale Earnhardt lug nut incident race. Great races!! Thx for all the memories!! ✌️ Keep them coming..💜

Mr. Humble...as I always called him. Mark Martin...always the gentleman racer who would give you the position without a fuss or fight regardless if it were the first lap or the last lap. As he put it, "If you caught me and was on my back bumper than you definitely had a quicker car." The SAME driver Joey Blo PURPOSELY wrecked to win a rain-shortened event, then wonders why people hate him so much to this day. The very SAME driver who answered honestly in a mid-race interview after wrecking out. Being asked, What happened?" Mark looked right into the camera and said, "Ran out of talent." I believe it was the race where his car veered off the track under YELLOW for no apparent reason. The same man who acted more like a child winning his FIRST NASCAR race out in Phoenix after beating the field in BOTH practice sessions; putting the #5 car on the pole and then SOUNDLY WHIPPING the WHOLE FIELD that night with Alan Gustafson as his crew chief!!! Yes...Mr.Humble who was a BETTER gentleman racer than "Gentleman" Ned ever THOUGHT of being!!!

I know you've interviewed Rusty a few times rusty has a great perspective also.. Rusty was awesome too!! Mark Martin didn't get a championship but he still was one of the greatest drivers in my opinion.. he gave a car all it had in it and raced clean.. Love Mark!! ✌️ It broke me up when he went over into the Chevys but it sounds like he enjoyed his time maybe less pressure with teams. I do remember those years and I still supported him.. Mark and Rusty were supposed to retire same year matching rocking chairs and Mark got called back in. Lol✌️
