Mark Making over Watercolor - explore intuitive art with beautiful wet in wet loose techniques
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this intuitive watercolor painting tutorial, join me in real time as I create an abstract using a simple map of the Americas as a jumping off point. Using a limited palette of colors, we'll begin by creating a loose background of spatters and lines, then add shapes and doodles in gold, white, and black to create a peaceful and cohesive painting. Our goal is to help you enter an alpha state where you can access your creative side and stop worrying about perfection. With our step-by-step guidance and encouragement, you can easily smash the creative block and release the art within. Let's explore and see what we can paint together in this fun and easy way to get into the flow of creativity!

Last night‘s episode was so sad, the one where the little boy is killed by a wicked man with a grenade, and the Italian restaurant is burnt down by angry locals because Italy declared war. So sad.
Oh yes! My Husband and I really enjoyed Foyle’s War! We get things like that on PBS!
An abstract....or a lovely landscape...or both. Love your ramblings. Too, and how painting frees your mind opening it to remembering. And I love Foyles War, too.

Lovely painting…thanks for sharing!
Really 100k stubbies in just a couple of years is quite a feat! Congratulations! I’m glad to be one as well! And yes Foyles War is great television!! Except for what you see on t.v.,MOST Americans are very shy about covering up their bodies (or at least they used to be!) and wouldn’t think about going into a public place without clothes. I remember being shocked when I lived in Oxford, England, and my friend there told me that women in France went topless at the beach! That’s quite rare in the U. S. and only at some designated places. Probably most people think we are much more free than that, and certainly modern clothes don’t really cover up much. Oh well, people are people all over, some kind and sweet like you and some not. Great work on your channel, and I know that it has been work! We really enjoy you and especially the ramblings! Love your junk journal too! I just put an old picture of my grandmother in mine. Maybe someday I will have a grandchild I hope!💕

Hi Donna, thanks for your interesting comment! It‘s true that women think nothing of going topless - or indeed butt naked - on beaches in France. The all-over tan is still something many people prize here. They believe in the health-giving properties of exposing the whole body to the sea air and the sun. I can sort of imagine how it would feel but I don‘t have the skin for it, too sun-sensitive sadly. Saunas of course are different again. Loads of people wandering around letting it all hang out without a care in the world. I managed it - I had to because it was my job!!! - but it was very hard!

I wasn’t into this piece at first, but once you began to doodle I saw all sorts of scenes develop...totally blown away! If you hold it portrait way with the river of blue grey at the bottom I see stones under and breaking the surface; and across the river hills with interesting foliages and the row of cottages with windows alight and thusly began to imagine life in that little corner of the world. Diane, although I never really found myself connecting much with abstract type art, since I've been watching your videos, I have definitely developed a great sense of appreciation for them. I'm always amazed when you stroke or splash paint on the paper watching the lovely designs it creates. Then adding the various embellishments is that bit of additional frosting :) For the past week, I've been making little 4 x 6 greeting cards using this approach. I mailed one to a friend who lives in Wisconsin yesterday, so she'll get a happy surprise in the mail soon. I loved the intro today with you sharing your beautiful journal with its special treasures inside. Your paintings are seriously gorgeous and your grandsons are darling. What a fun treat for me to see that you've saved and included the card I painted. I am truly honored that it has a place in your journal. On another note, I've watched the sweet little Easter chick video already but today I'm going to watch it again so I can make a few and send them out for Easter, which is quickly approaching. One last thing....just look at your subscriber numbers! I'm going to crack open some bubbly and raise a glass to celebrate your 100,000 lucky subscribers soon! It must be a wonderful feeling knowing how many lives you and Tamsin have touched in such a healthy and positive way. Congratulations to my very favorite teacher! xo

I am truly blessed and truly grateful for the opportunity that has so serendipitously landed in my lap! I‘m glad you’re finding pleasure in some of the more abstract work. It is just the ticket when you don‘t know what to paint, and sometimes something emerges that really makes your day! I just know that your talent is going to find particular joy in this niche as well as all the other things you do. Thanks for reminding me about the bubbly! I have to send my husband off to get us some Champommy, which is the non-alcoholic French version of champagne made from apples! And I think I‘ll plan a special meal as well! It certainly doesn‘t happen every day. Sending you love and thanks, Diane and Tamsin.

Hi Dee-Ellen, seeing your question made me think, and I have just transferred my paints into a Masterson Sta-Wet palette box like this one amzn.to/3ZyCfRf Mine is a bit older and smaller and has a section for brushes, but the newer ones are better, and bigger and I think a lot of paints would fit in. I can get my 48 in the main section, plus another ten in the brush section if I want. I will probably use that section for holding the colors I intend to use for a particular painting. I‘ll post a photo on Facebook in our group.

Hello, I'm fairly new to your channel ... and loving it :) You may have mentioned this somewhere before, I'm curious to know why you choose to use Kuretake watercolours? I've only just realised that these are non toxic and now makes me wonder about the others. Thank you.
@DianeAntoneStudio
Жыл бұрын
Hi Diana, so glad you found us and are enjoying the channel! I came to find out about Kuretake via a circuitous route. I noticed Emma LeFevbre using the Kuretake Starry Colors (gold and silver) a few years ago and eventually decided to buy some for myself. I was so pleased with the way they worked out I looked at their other offerings and saw the paints in the big box, in the big pans and I thought, aha, they would work for my style of painting! So I took the plunge and bought some. I find that they are very much easier to paint with than the traditional paints I have used for the past 60 years and I wish I had known about them sooner. The manufacturers have told me that they are non-toxic, and that the next batch to be shipped from Japan will also be non animal product containing and therefore acceptable to vegans. I’m more interested in their non-toxic properties. Although I am not aware of any of the paints from Winsor and Newton containing anything toxic either. Hope this helps!

I loved your Art Nouveau Kuretaki paint colors so much that I was going to order some for myself. I did some research into what is in them and was a little disturbed to see that animal hide glue is an ingredient. I don't want to be hypocritical and NOT order them...I wear leather shoes. However, I do not use animal hair paintbrushes. Also I'm wondering what kind of animal. Is it cowhide? I have to think on this a bit more. How do you feel about this ingredient? Does it upset you to use animal byproducts in your painting? Do you use animal hair brushes? No judgement here. Just wondering. Thanks so much for your videos. I love them.
@DianeAntoneStudio
Жыл бұрын
Hi Rita, I have been in touch with Kuretake about the ingredients in the paints. They are in the process of exchanging the one animal based ingredient in them (gelatine) for a vegan alternative and have told me that the next shipment of paints that is sent out to Amazon will be vegan compliant. On the brush issue, I myself only use synthetic brushes, although I do have a few animal hair ones which are decades old.
What type of pen is the bronze one you use at the end? Sounded like Signo Uniball..broad gel pen? Thanks
