Gutted to have lost this genius! His music was sublime and masterful, as was his raspy, epic voice. 'Old Swan' is incredible, and even more poignant considering the lyrics (highly recommended song). I hope he finds his cosmic buddies on the other side - Cobain, Cornell, Staley and Bourdain. :)

Dam, I've only just discovered his music. I didn't know he had died. Gutted.

I was randomly listening to his Field Songs album while picking up my wife at the airport yesterday at around 04:45 am and while at work later in the day I read about his passing and it still hurts thinking about it. Grew up listening to the Trees in the 90's and now the voice that was as fine as a glass of whiskey, rough as puffing a cigarette and a stare that even the devil himself would understand and behave over is gone. May he raise hell with those waiting for him in the great beyond. R.I.P.

Yeah, if Mark had to make a quick detour, um..downstairs, he would definitely intimidate the fuck out of Old Scratch.

Mark Lanegan's memory will continue to live on in all the wonderful music he created. When I learned of his death 2 weeks after it happened, it really brought me down hard. I really thought I'd be blessed enough to see him perform at least once. Got a job to pay for my eventual trip cross country and everything. Just devastating

I've just got into him the last two months I can't stop listening to him where have I been for the last 30 years fuckin brilliant

I have seen many videos of Mark Lanegan's music and this is one of the best that I keep coming back to... just magic. Thank you. Every artist has amazing nights like this, and also ones that are not so good. Life - that's the way it goes, it seems - to appreciate the good - you've got to know the bad! Love this man's music... xxG

A long time fave. And having just finished his soul-searing memoir SING BACKWARDS AND WEEP, I'm both amazed and very glad Lanegan is still on earth.
