Mark’s first solo album "Golden Heart" was released in late March 1996. The album was several years in the making and took Mark through a musical journey with influences drawn from Irish and Scottish folk music as well as rock’n’roll and cajan. Golden Heart marked a new beginning for Mark and provided him with the opportunity to work with some of the best musicians in the world: His fearless geniuses from Nashville.

That's it exactly. He pulls you into the song. He creates a world. You are not looking on. You are in it. And Mark has a talent for melody - of infinite, gorgeous variety - like no one else I can think of.
I can't tell how much I love Mark's music. It's a legacy I'll take with me forever.

Just like a comedian masters timing, Mark is a master at knowing exactly how much space to give each note. It's like he holds each note, tenderly caressing every one giving them the space and respect they deserve.. That's what makes him a virtuoso.
