You must’ve not watched closely or have amnesia. Mark jackson had elite offensive talent but put them in positions to mediocre(they were average offensively), started david lee over draymond , couldn’t draw up plays in game so he preached outside the huddle while mike malone drew up the plays, michael malone schemed up the good defense they had (per andrew bogut), and the very next year kerr comes in and they have one of the most dynamic offenses ever. I would love to see Klay stay & have it be on a deal that he feels is respectful, but that deal has to be one that allows for other moves to be made. Klay has had 2 full seasons to show he's back to pre injury form & while he's still very much an effective player, it's still been low playoff seeds & early exits, even with him on the roster. So all that lifetime achievement contract stuff is nice, but that team still has pieces that can compete on a high level & financially handcuffing yourself to a (potentially) declining player, just doesn't make a ton of sense

Warriors shouldn't have gotten rid of Chenso. Dude clearly could ball. He's proving that in New York. They need guys like him that can shoot. Klay can still be that guy sometimes but they need some fresh legs that can shoot lights out and take pressure off Curry. You guys can't depend on Curry carrying all the load anymore. He needs help.

yeah, he was great on the dubs. didn't show up in the playoffs like he's doin w the knicks tho. Dubs have a big salary problem. They can only sign minimums & stuff around there. Also, they added CP so they had to let him go for those reasons. def a shame tho

@@blottolotto7648 yeah I get that. Just saying they should have done more to keep and develop him. Pajinski seems promising as well. But they gotta develop those kind of dudes to be better. Draymond and klay both gonna have to realize they gonna have to sacrifice alot more if they want to win. They aren’t what they use to be. They need new fresh legs to keep this thing running. Chenso could have been that guy. It’s the same with lebron getting rid of kcp, Ingram, kuzma, etc etc they need time. Everyone expects them to turn into a great player over night and that’s not how it goes lol. Sometimes it takes a few years.

Mark Jackson had it right with the Derek Jeter analogy. At some point for the organization it becomes a legacy contract which production wise doesnt make sense for the money. Paying for what someone did and not what they can still do. As opposed to improving at the position for the same or less money.

I totally get what Kmart saying, but you have to understand the dynamic of the team the bench play wasn’t good so him agreeing to come of the bench wasn’t for a sign of him not being the same caliber player as a starter it was to balance the drop off from the 1st unit to the 2nd unit and Klay being a team first type of guy he agreed plus it guaranteed he would get more shots up but the man got his minutes and finished every game with the starting 5. That was also playing into Klay’s favor by average starter points coming off the bench
