I think some of the stories may have been embellished but Clough was so unique a character that the stories remain credible. He was keen to ensure no one got above themselves and despite being the country's then record signing Trevor Francis had to make the tea just like everyone else.

@@geoffpoole483 In general I would usually agree, but with Clough(a real unique controversial, motivating Genius and Loon!)I tend to think this is how it played out! ..It was the same with Bill Shankly who I always make an effort to watch any vids of him in!..He had this larger than life personality &was massive on mind games& Psychology..And he had the utmost respect for the fans!..U can still see why today he and Brian Clough are still spoken about with such reverence!
mark crossley is a brilliant story teller.i could listen to him all day talk about cloughie!!🤣
I love Brian Clough! The world needs more people like him! 😂
Paddy McGuinness telling a great Cloughie story there🤣
I never get tired of listening to this man talk about Clough
"I thought you were SHIT, son..... wasn't he, lads?" 😂😂😂😂😂
Things that make me proud to be English 1. Shakespeare 2. Dickens 3. Blake 4. Every single Brian Clough story ive ever heard.

Absolutely brilliant story about Cloughie, met him when I was a thirteen year old lad 1962 and I idolised him. RIP Mr. Clough.
The Pearce impression is by far the best impression Mark Crossley has ever done in any of these videos.Maybe because I'm Scottish, but it's like he's on stars in their eyes 😂😂😂

Cast a young actor as the reporter and have Michael Sheen playing the Clough from the era portrayed in the ‘Provided you don’t kiss me’ book
The love Crossley has for Clough is wonderful.
Mark crossley is the best ever doing cloughie stories with that impression it’s quality
Marks impression of Clough is class😅
Miss him, one of the best characters in the game. Great story 👍
Cloughie was a psychological genius
“What can I do for you shithouse..?” 😂😂😂
I think Mark Crossley is a brilliant story teller. A great impersonation of the great man. Never lost his Barnsley accent either
I mean Cloughie was amazing, but so was Mark telling this story! Delivery, impressions and all!
I love Brian clough stories

@@maxwellboyne2770 Crossley has told this story differently before. It gets slightly more embellished upon every time its told. This happens with almost every great/funny story that is ever told though whether it's Crossley or a mate down the pub, especially the further in the past the actual event happened. The fraud part though needs to be put into context. I don't think it has anything to do with Clough being a socialist and far more to do with the idea that the advertisement could be seen that it would be Stuart Pearce himself showing up to the jobs that would of course be ridiculous given his level of fame at the time. It's more to do with the insinuation that Pearce had any involvement in the company anymore other than it being still within his family. Not strictly him having any part in it other than his brother using his name.
Wish Clough was around now. Some of today's players would be scared shitless. Brilliant manager. One of the greatest ever.

Not sure his style of management would work today, players simply wouldn’t listen. There’s no discipline anymore in football and footballers nowadays are more bigger than their clubs.. The manager would be sacked wayyyyy before any player would. Completely different era.
@RichardM-kv4uu

They wouldn't sign for or play for him these days though - coaches/managers have to be best mates with players today, not bosses.

Met mark last night whilst I was at work at the Ibrox bar in Tenerife! What a guy! Genuinely nice fella!
Best podcast around, definitely joining patreon!
I hope Mark Crossley does after dinner work. He's a natural.
Superb impressions from Mark!
Mark Crossley's Cloughie stories are fantastic, could listen to him all day long telling them! Brian Clough....what a man, what a character, what an absolute legend!!! No characters in football any more, totally ruined by money and VAR!!!!!!
This is one of my favourite ever KZread vids. I’ve watched this five times so far today 😂
Crossleys impressions are mustard
Another absolute belter 👏👏👏👏, as someone who's struggled with gambling, I can totally relate to this, some great stories too 👌👌
Absolutely classic story, mark crossley superb.
Just heard his impression of Frank Clark at the end too 😂😂
Norman is great at telling Clough us stories 😂😂👏👏
Loved This one! 🤣
Absolute stuff of legend and what a master raconteur Crossley is. Loved it.
Just brilliant. Can we have the Edward Sheringham story please??? The one where BC discusses the impossibility of himself going nine games without scoring.
Brilliant story, told brilliantly!! 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

I'm not a forest fan but I love all the crazy stories about clough you hear especially the ones mark cross-eyed tells
Close your eyes, you’d think Cloughie and Pearce were here 😂
Brilliant impressions are bang on hahaha
This mans delivery is next level 🤣🤣🤣
Crossley has the most Yorkshire face ever 😆
Well produced!
Mark's story telling is brilliant.
Crossley is a good mimic, got cloughie dwn to a tee.😀
🤣😂🤣😭 would pay money to go to an evening of that brilliant
Thank you so much
1:51 He woks ova t'ball and he kicks ball off towel
worked for AVBC and saw the great man many times, either in the paper shop or on his rounds.. we would cut the grass verges or tarmac the footpaths.. gritting in winter and always he would have time for the working people, even standing on Trent bridge with a bucket during the miners strike, he was the kind of man that everyone would have loved to be their dad.. if he had one fault , i would say that he made a crap cup of tea ..but the thought was there 🤣😂
I heard a story like this before and the manager tried this trick thinking he was clever with one of the players and the player picked up the iron and smashed it off the wall and said to the manager you will have to buy a new iron that one is fucked 😂😂😂😂brilliant😂😂😂
The best manager England never had
great impression of pearcey
I'm a gooner but will never forget as a kid at the dell forest vs Southampton during the warm up mark came from the goal too the halfway line took off his gloves and signed my program
This is brilliant 👍
Wasn’t he lads 😂😂
Absolutely hilarious and Cloughie to a T!!
I used to go to Wealdstone in the 70s when Stuart Pearce was playing for them. Never saw Vinnie Jones play for them though.
This is brilliant
LMAO Crossers impersonation is sport on...bloody brilliant.
Class .mark was a good keeper
I just found out that Brian Clough was the first chairman of the Anti-Nazi league against racists and racism formed following really nasty racist stuff Eric Clapton said in a gig in Birmingham. Clough has just shot well up in my estimation (he always was even as a Cov fan).
He forget to carry the Stuart Pearce impression on... 😂
Brilliant!!
Class Cloughie impression 🤣🤣
Classic, when Football was great with great characters 👍
brilliant stuff.
Should have been cast in The Damned United instead of Michael Sheen 😂
Clough seems to have choreographed all these interactions, his theatrics are genius.
Excellent Cloughie impression.
Great story !
“Young man!” They don’t make them like Crain Clough anymore...
Think I know this word for word now , its so funny

Crossley is a genius
What a fab stab at Cloughie. Brilliant.

Brilliant 😂😂😂

Genius from Cloughie. Don’t think would get that level of skill in todays leadership and training programs, not in my organisation anyway
Do people from Yorkshire know the word the?
“I fawt I fuckin done awaight”
Great story...
Cloughie never missed a thing but even players who hated him wanted to do well for him. Good managers have that effect.
Respect to the man that saved Gary Lineker's penalty in the 1991 F.A cup final!!
Brilliant lol

Yooouuuu Reeeddddsss !!!!
A lad who played in Forest apprentice and reserves in the late seventies told us some great stories re. Cloughie and his first few weeks in charge. An absolute bullshitter but coaching genius when it came to the player psychology.
Sh#thouse.........😂
Clough and Taylor shoulda had the England job
How many stories like this would you get out of the current crop of pampered players? Miss the time when football was a working man's game with proper down to earth characters.
Classic
Brian Clough is fuckin hilarious. Definitely one of a kind manager. If only football had managers like him nowadays it wouldn't be so pantomime like it is
