This song makes me cry every. single. time. It’s so gorgeous and makes me feel so proud of myself for how far I’ve come. I feel so empowered when I sing “I’m a free woman” because I know it’s true, it’s finally true.

It gives me a sort of chinese traditional music vibe during the "Free-eee-eeee-eeee"! 😍 And the bridge is like touching the sky with one finger ♥ Lyrics: *chef's kiss* as always.

Verse 2 is my favorite verse as an Orthodox Christian. "May my body be of service, May my beauty be of use, As a vessel that I live in, Not an object to abuse" is just such a great line and so in line with Orthodox Teaching. The body is not the most important thing, nor the will of the flesh but what we do with it and how we allow our souls/spirits to show through our actions. The Bridge as well where she talks about how people will try to erase her wrinkles and her truth is just so damn powerful. Marina is an amazing woman and truly feminine, not afraid to be a woman in today's world and be proud of every aspect of her womanhood. It is seriously such an amazing and relevant message I wish more people would hear. I love you Marina ~♥

These past 2 months have been tough for me. I was taken advantage by a man much older than me. While at the time I thought I was sorta ok with everything, I know now that I wasn’t ready. My innocence feels like it has been taken from me. I had waited my entire life for a pure love but I was robbed and now I feel abandoned. Can we just apreciate the fact that she writes about stuff like mysogyny and not just of s*x , like most people , her music is the best thing to happen to me . She wrote about spreading comfort to hurt teens in family jewls , about female sterreotypes in electra hart , ancient dreams in a mordern land focused on understanding your true worth and confidence , Froot on the silly things in life like fruit .
