“Reprogram The Gene (Live in Port Zélande 2023)” is the first single taken from Marillion’s upcoming “An Hour Before It’s Dark: Live in Port Zélande 2023”, an audio-visual masterpiece showcasing the band’s 2022 studio album in its entirety.
From Friday, March 17th, to Sunday, March 19th, 2023, the Marillion weekend took place at Center Parcs, Port Zélande, The Netherlands. On Saturday night, Marillion performed their latest album “An Hour Before It’s Dark” in its entirety. Their impressive live shows, with stunning projections and laser effects, add to Marillion’s reputation as being one of the leading musicians of today.

Great song, catchy, a bit proggy too with the breaks inside... makes me remember of the Haarlem week end last year ! I love what Marillion has become (know them since 1988), i totally love the last album, "Care".. wooow !! H is incredible of sensivity and intensity..Thank nyou Marillion for being what you are !

O gatinho 🐾🐾da minha filha relaxa com a voz do Steve. Tenho 43 anos e curto a banda desde a era Fish. Não tenho do que reclamar. As duas energias (F&S) fazem bem. Se não fosse assim não estariam ativos em nossas almas até hoje. Isso é fato! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I don't know why this song works. It shouldn't but somehow does. And it's even better live. Steve H is always great at acting out the lyrics. Just a bummer that the earmusic Blu-Ray won't include the Sunday night extras.

It is weak. Marillion by numbers. And predictable. That's perfectly fair criticism. 'I've been listening to Greta T' is one of Steve's worst lyrics.

@@alexmac1999 i've never listened to lyrics. to me, the voice is another instrument. i catch lyrics periodically and find them interesting through coincidence. but it's never an inspiration above sound. love RUSH... but it's all in the sound 🤝
Really boring one this...vocal melody is basically a single note throughout the verses. One of those where it feels like the music was created first and a vocal tacked on top.
This is not MARILLON! Marillion is FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fish fans are like Marty McFly. Both are desperate to get back to 1985.
After Fish, Marillion its just a nice good average band with a decent generic singer ( there are no longer traces of a defined character, it sounds like many other bands)

Low quality vocalist? Opinion is one thing; we are all entitled to our opinion. But please do not make technical judgements when you are clearly without any singing knowledge. It just makes you sound a bit foolish, unfortunately.

Strange while you're commenting on it then. I just ignore Fish, but then his voice is shot now and he couldn't sing his old songs even if he wanted too. Loved him when he was with the band but that was over 30 years ago.
