I have much to be grateful for. Children's Miracle Network saved my daughter's life when she was 17. Thank you, Marie!!!

I was also once told that I needed to lose weight .. I was 27 years old , children were growing up - way too fast .. at least that was what I thought . Anyway - I had dwindled down just over 40 pounds .. getting divorced .. starting to date again .. met a man who still said the same thing .. lose weight .. I was 108 pounds .. wore size 9 or 10 depending on which company I purchased clothing from. So I “shaved off “ another few pounds. I learned something really important !! Stop trying to please or influence other people of ‘ how’ they saw me .. I can accept myself the way I am .. yes - today I do need to lose weight .. but I’m not trying to please anybody .. just bee happy with “who I belong to “ and that is GOD !!

I grew up with the Osmonds and the Jacksons. I am Maries age. I too weighed only 95 lbs. at 16 until I was 18. The stress of my home life really attacked my body. I started and stopped my period. I finally married a beautiful young man, who saved me. I got pregnant with my daughter and ate like I had never eaten before. Wow! I weighed a 165 lbs. when she was born. When all of that fell away, I was so happy to be a size 5! Finally, I had boobs and a butt. Yeah me! Sadly under stress ~ I still stop eating and lose weight. I have to force myself to release the formidable knot in my stomach, to relax and sleep! I guess we never forget!

The whole family seem to be genuinely nice people and definitely talented. I was an Alan girl as a teen and I’m sad he’s been unable to perform for many years due to him suffering from MS. Interestingly he married a woman with the same last name as me, albeit with a slightly different spelling.

I have to say something about the weight thing. After I had my son, I weigh 94 pounds and I was 4‘11“. I was still thin at 104 pound and at 110 pounds, so I don’t understand how they could even think that she was too fat at her height and her weight to be as little as I was or less that’s ridiculous. She would have to not eat at all and and 🎉just drink water.

I definitely need to lose weight , I just saw my doctor yesterday. I don't really know what happened to me! I was thin after four children. I'm 5'8 "and weighed 135 pounds. When I was a teen I barely ate anything for two months, I just got so sick of eating the same things ! Then I ended up with a thyroid problem and I put on 80 pounds. I have never eaten a gallon of ice cream or a bag of chips! I'm not a stress eater , but I do have a lot of stress in my life at that time ! I gained weight because I kinda forgot how I actually ate before pregnancy! I just know I never ate breakfast! 😢So now I have to write everything down that I eat! I got a fit bit, and I wasn't moving enough! So I pray I can get the weight off , and keep it off and get back to being me! I thought I was to fat in my teen years and I was 125 that is very thin for my height. Being a busy Mom added stress in my life I wasn't used too! I wasn't used to thinking for six people all the time, it was extremely exhausting!

@@stardustgirl2904 As you get older, your metabolism slows down. Now, with all of the additives and chemicals in food that mess with your hormones, you gain weight a lot more easily. Add to that, the seed oils and High Fructose Corn Syrup, and pot smoking which increase the appetite. Then, of course a sedentary life style, and BINGO, obesity!

I like their work ethic. Always respectable too.

Working 20 hour work days? Maybe they did on rare occasions, but unlikely they were that successful on 4 hours of sleep as their daily schedule. They would have burned out and suffered mental and physical health problems if they had.

I was born in 1970 so grew up watching Donny and Marie. Marie looks absolutely stunning still. I know she has had plastic surgery, but thank God never to the point to where she looks like a cartoon character. I love Donny too! He's so funny 🥰

I met Donnie at the SLC Airport with a musician friend of mine. He TRULY IS SO Funny. Always very personable and totally without guile or pretense. His family is AWESOME in every way.

Always ways to get you to read whoever is promoting this!!! Considering the untrue information they stated, we certainly know it wasn’t Donny or Marie!! I grew up with all the Osmonds , I remember Donny’s first song that I fell in love with, “And they called it Puppy Love”!!!!!! I remember my friends and I coming home from doing a Church road Show, sitting on the tailgate of a old station wagon, (this was 1969?) sing it at the Top of our lungs!!!! I so love the Osmonds, Every one of them, and keep track of how they are doing, and pray each night for there health safety, and happiness!!! Thank You, Osmond Family , for all the joy, the example, of strength and of faith and your love and devotion to Family!!!! ❤❤

Sadly back in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s weight was a MAJOR thing and many women were told they had to lose 20 pounds to make up for the 10 pounds that the camera adds. Sadly Karen Carpenter developed suffered from Anorexia and died in her early 30s as a result of it. Thank God Chrissy Metz and Lizzo among others have helped to change the way people who are larger are now accepted these days.

@@1Baileyboy Actually obese people suffer the most. They contend with liver, kidney, lung, heart and bone issues. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, strokes and heart attacks. They can become bed ridden, develop sores that don't heal and lead to amputation as well as poor vascular issues leading to neuropathy which is extremely painful. So basically if people would just support other people instead of shaming then maybe everyone could be happy and healthy. .. in a perfect world.

I lost a Son the same way a few years ago. He was doing the "best ever" even after serving a lengthy jail term. It was a struggle with 2 girlfriends that he couldn't handle. He always wanted everyone to be happy.

Yes, unfortunately that is not unique. I’ve known a few who ‘shocked’ people with their heartbreaking decision, b/c they were ‘doing much better’. Not all fall in that category, however. No one knows the mental & emotional torment these people endured, prior. And their survivors need to not hold themselves of any account.

Marie Osmond is a cool mom. She loves and accepts all of her kids for who they are. The LDS Church teaches that you are to embrace your gay kids and keep them connected to the family and not leave them out, and don't disown them. It isn't because they think they will magically change, it is because they are part of your family, and if your gay kid has a same sex spouse and they are happy together, you don't just invoite your kid and not their partnersm, you invite them both. Utah is one of the few very red states that has laws that protect gay people from discrimmination in employment and housing, and the reason it happened is because the LDS Church said they supported the bill that was before state lawmakers, and with the Church's endorsement, it passed. Other red states are doing all they can to discruimmunate and to oppress LGBTQ people. I met Marie a couple of times. These are very kind people, and people who work really hard, and people whose faith is strong. One of the reasons why the Osmonds lost so much money, is because they built their own TV studio in Provo or Orem, Utah, and when their tv show was over, there weren't other TV production in production. I think they were eventually able to sell it.

They were very committed to the Mormon church. This kept the family on a different track, than most music groups. Back in the days, it was easy to lose money, compared to now. They paid off their debts & started over in Vegas. The music business is a messy one.
