    Thanks for talking about her. One of the things that I have found so frustrating about track this season is the way that somebody can be having a consistently fantastic season, but yet their successes are just greeted with ‘Oh yeah, but that’s because so-and-so is not there’ Ta Lou has been giving us a show and her best all season, she deserves a ton of credit for such an invigorating 100/200m 2023 Diamond League season.

She might have a 10.6 in her that could get the 🥇. She will definitely need it because that final is gonna be fierce!

    No one is unstoppable. it's about on the day.. Athletes are human: they have headache, feel pain, have problems, just woke up feeling terrible. Then u have to factor in the weather. Some fast Athletes can false start, jump out badly (left un the blocks) some Athletes legs can give way's many things. Some Athletes are definitely faster than some Athletes, the slower Athletes capitalise from faster Athletes mistakes ,whatever it might be. Think of all the Athletes fit and ready and made no mistakes at all ;

It's also wild to think that Usain Bolt would be able to start from the blocks at the same time Talou gets the baton with this flying start and still catch, pass and finish a clear 2m ahead of her by the 100 mark, it's almost unfathomable to picture but it's obviously true😲😲

    I love Ta Lou.... and ill be rooting for her to do awesome things this year at Worlds. My problem, is I find myself rooting for about 6 different athletes.. LOL. There's just so many intriguing stories and athletes looking to do amazing things that it's actually difficult to pick ONE?!? As a Canadian, I've always rooted for the Jamacian Queens and will continue to do so, but I'd be lying if a part of me won't be happy for OTHER athletes if they were to hit that podium as well. And Ta Lou is definitely one of those athletes.... I'm also rooting for Sha'carri to find her success and finally hit the podium in a Major Championship as well. Add in Abby, Gabby and Tamari Davis in the 200m for the US alone, now THAT event will be fire!! You Jackson.will be bringing it.... plus Alfred has looked crazy fast this season... gonna be an exciting final.

    As one who operates timing systems, and have seen some pretty sophisticated set-ups.....where are all the cameras for these splits?? Splits at the finish (or center of the exchange zone for 4x4s) are taken as the baton crosses the center line of the zone regardless of who has it and are determined by the Finishlynx camera(s). Seems to me, there would have to be a camera for each lane lined up on the center of each zone. Are they just rolling the play-back footage, stopping the video as the baton gets somewhere in the middle and saying "it looks the spot, and looks like 9.70 ."?? We also see 10m splits for the 100, 100m splits for the 400, 800, 1500. that's a lot of cameras or at least moving a lot cameras around! How do they do it?? If someone out there knows, please elaborate!

    6:43 This isn’t correct unfortunately - only a slight adjustment based on my understanding of Omega sheets. You cropped out the important part: “21.47”. When you see these numbers you’ll notice the error. 11.6+9.6 is 21.3. Not 21.47. The omega sheets I’ve noticed do that and you need to fix the maths yourself. Given the 200m split has 2 decimals I’ve been instructed previously to use that and adjust the second leg to match. That would mean the delta of 0.17 would be added to Ta Lou. This means her split was 9.7 + 0.17 = 9.87. Check your math by adding 9.87+11.60= 21.47. Still a great leg - I’ve been saying for a while here it’s a perfect storm of her rivals getting older and Ta Lou remaining consistent. This adjustment not impacting that. It’s just important to call that out bc stuff like this pops up on situations that just stick like Sydney’s 4x4 which has long been miscalculated and imo leads ppl to expect a 400m that she might not be capable of. But it Just might be Ta Lou’s year. An extra 0.17 isn’t going to change that, that’s for sure.

  • @ffvgaming3735

    @ffvgaming3735

    Ikr people miscalculate splits all the time, and is not an exact science. Where the hand overs happen can also change the length of each leg which will impact split times. Imo the only semi-useful splits are first/anchor legs since the start/end points are fixed for those.

    Good drugs, hard to get to them on that island. They sure pay well, I'm sure of that too. Africa is catching on too. I think Jamaica's days of 1,2,3 are long gone. Will they always have 1 or 2 in the top 5? They better because that's their entire everything when it comes to pride. They invest everything into it. Sha'carri is the boss right now and Talou but I'm telling you, watch Africa because they'll have more people coming out of the wood works soon. They've figured out something over there and they will be hard to deal with... one name says it all Issam Asinga. If they can produce that then no one can stop them.

    Her 100m race was also fairly ridiculous, from memory 10.87 into a 1.4m headwind. She destroyed everyone else, no-one else was under 11.00.

    @4:51 *Sha'Carri Richardson* just smashed the 100m in Nationals; clocked at a *10.71* making her time the fastest in the world for the women's 100m. These runner's are getting scary fast. Imagine if the wind cooperated. she could've potentially clocked 10.5. Ridiculous speed.,

    9.7 in the 100m is a fast time but let's put things into perspective. Running the 100m and running the 4x1 are two different events where speed is concern. In the 4x1 the runners before the baton is changed are already running and it takes lest time for them to be at their top speed than in the 100m event. At the start of a 100m there is the reaction time to the gun and it takes more time to be at your top speed than doing the 4x1.

    Well if you actually put it into perspective, every women in the race should be running sub 10 if you take into account that they are already running before being passed the baton but their times are comparable to running a women's 100m dash. Her time is an anomaly and would definitely be on par with the men's 100m dash which makes me wonder if she is taking any performance enhancement drugs.

    You can't say "16 out of the top 20 times", when there are 6 tied for 20th. That's not how numbers work. They have 16 out of the top25 times then.
