i live here and agree with you ...i used to go a lot but now never go as prices are much higher service is not good and as you say no prices on menu...i now go to Elias which is not to far away the guys who own it worked in Marianos they do the same chicken but always fresh and a friendly service they also do a lot of other food that also is very good..prices are on menu of course...also for your interest best sunday lunch is Mad Munk everything fresh you should try it x

Next vacation in June I was planning to go there . But now I am not sure not bcs of prices if I eat that plates of food and water here in Switzerland will be minimum around 50 to 60 swiss Frs but not sure about the old food if I go there

We like to eat there. Never to expensive; prices have gone up in many places. But I must say, less friendly than they used to be as you said too.

Hi Ana, I love your vlogs, and your honest opinions on things. I commend you on saying it like it is in this vlog, regarding Mariano's food. It would be easy for you, as a Spanish resident, to brag, and hype up Spanish restaurants. But, I have to say, you give credit where it's due, and come clean on the on the places that don't come up to scratch. We have used Mariano's since 1989, and loved it, but in the last 2 years, it has gone downhill. People say the food is still great, but that’s probably because they've had a few drinks, when, almost anything can taste good. We ate there last week whilst on holiday, and questioned the menu without prices on it. The waiter returned with a menu which did have prices, which should be the ones presented on the table to start with. The chicken wasn't that great, and the service was diabolical. We just had to look at plates on tables, with leftover food, which, basically explained it all to us. Is Mariano's still owned by the same people, or has it changed ownership? We like to eat at some nice places, and have taken your opinions and views on some tapas bars, which have been spot on. I have followed your channel since it began, and admire you for all the work you put into it. Keep the good work up, and also, thank your hubby for his input into your channel. Helen x

It's still the same family, however the one running it was the father, it was great back then, super friendly smiling staff, great food, for a couple of years now the kids have overtaken the business, that's why probably we can tell the difference 🤔

Wow that’s not good ! Last week I watched the Macmaster on youtube in Mariano’s and he said 10/10 for it the chicken looked delicious and moist but to be fair it did look like it had just been cooked 👍🏻 and the place was heaving with customers too when he was filming ! Sad to hear that, I am in Bini now, we went down tapas ally and had a sea food piella (spelling) the menu said 15E and we had one beer and coke and it came to 39E. All we could think of it was Per person so double but we did not see this on the menu. It seems about 30E plus is what it costs. Unless you know Beni and go hunting which is hard for me as I have mobility problems. On the plus side the sun is out and the temp is just right. Thank you for what you do they are very useful.

Usually Paella prices are always listed per person, although they trick into it saying you need to ask for minimum of 2 people, so it's minimum 30 euros 🤔 although I do find it slightly expensive

We used marianos for our breakfast every day for a 2 week holiday during the covid season. It was ok but as soon as the grand national was open again we stopped using marianos. We go to the grand national for breakfast and dinner every day on our fortnights holiday twice a year and get amaIng food and service

Ik was daar vlak voor de verbouwing eind 2022. Ook toen was de bediening gewoon niet vriendelijk,op het onbeschofte af. Ik was alleen , maar ook dan verwacht ik gewoon een vriendelijke ober. Ik had een kipfilet en frites. De salade zat er niet bij. Voor iets meer geld eet je op de boulevard een beter dagmenu.

They probably cooked to.mutch chicken for st Patrick's day and had lots left

I've been going to Mariano's for over 30 yrs. The best time to go for food is early evening. You can see the chicken cooking on the spits it's fresh.They have a massive turnover of people so I think you were unfortunate. You are right about the past though Mr Marianne himself used to be there overseeing everything. Still highly recommend. The prices are not shown at the moment because the cost of vegetables etc keeps changing daily and they are unable to reprint everyday.

All other places in benidorm have prices and them don't? Or inflation affects just them? They can't cater with these menus to begin with, price must be legally included.

Ana the best chicken in Benidorm is El Puente in the old town much more succulent but Mariano's has more choice of other stuff

it will be a shame if Marianos changes too much, ive been going there since around 1985, not so much now as spend more time in Albir, but always try to visit each time im over. i think its still good value, which makes it crazy not too put the prices up....strange that

I visited Mariano's 3 times when I stayed at the Halley by Melia last Christmas. I ate in once and took food back to my apartment twice at night time. They definitely had prices on then. I would refuse to eat anywhere that did not show their prices. It is annoying having to ask the price of things. Customers should not stand for it and boycott them. It is no good complaining after you have ordered and eaten.

Ana , have a look at The MacMaster video from a couple of weeks back , they reviewed it favourably. You can only give the review for your own experience on that particular occasion and i'm sure your husband knows the difference between fresh chicken and yesterdays chicken . I've been to Benidorm loads of times , but i've only ever ate from Marianos once, it was chips and curry and it wasn't very good to be honest.

That's true, we base it on this particular moment and in our and friends experience for the last 10 years. It's not bad still, but just not the same as it used to bre, shame the owner isn't there any longer 🤷‍♀️

Reheated chicken that's only warm inside. I'd have sent it back, not fit for human consumption your lucky it didn't give you an upset stomach

It's simply uncomfortable for the customers, the vast majority would like to know what food costs before ordering, as well as being a legal obligation to clearly specify the prices on the menu

This literally happens everywhere in the world. If you go to eat like a normal person at a normal hour, they are going to serve better quality chicken. They always have people, and like any other place, they don’t want to waste food. I think the quality and price here are unmatched compared to any other place. I’m living in New York now, and it’s clear you don’t appreciate this restaurant. I hope you keep your promise and never come back, which means more for me when I land in Benidorm 😋🤤 I hate people that because for one bad experience, they say that the restaurant have lost quality. WHY instead you don’t tell that to the waiter? I’m sure if that’s the truth, they are going to serve you a fresh one

Not showing prices a big no no , they could charge what they like.

I have ate in Mariano’s loads of times over 30 years always found it good quality and reasonable on price I’m very surprised at this negative review

I've eaten here for last 10 years as well and my hubby since he was little, which was about 30 years ago too, many spanish agree on their unfriendly service and having NO PRICES on menu is illegal to begin with

Shame if this is true. Was there last April and I would say its the best chicken I've tasted. 😮

we’ve been there just this weekend, so it is sadly true, we’ve been visiting for 10 years, and this time sadly we weren’t lucky, it’s a shame because we loved it too… I think it’s because the owner left it for his children to handle
