Mariano Rocabado’s 6 Exercises for Jaw Disorders
This is designed by Rocabado in order to treat TMJ disorders.
He emphasized the importance of treating head and neck in addition to effectively treat TMJ disorders.
He recommended performing 6 repetitions each exercise, 6 sessions per day.
1 Resting Position of the Joint - Tongue on the Roof of Mouth
2 Controlled Opening
3 Stabilisation of the TMJ
4 Stabilised Head Flexion
5 Cervical Retraction
6 Shoulder Retraction

    Hi. Super glad I found your video. Thanks for sharing! If you had to guess, in order to acheive permanent restoration/healing, how many weeks (or months) should people be doing these 6-times-per-day, 6-times-per-week Rocabado exercises? Would greatly appreciate any advice you have to share.

    Thank you! I will start doing these! When I do the cervical retraction I hear a cracking/ popping sound in my jaw? Is this normal?

    Please do it only gently to the point that you hear no cracking / popping sound in your jaw and done very slowly and certainly no pain when you do these exercises. Please see your local physiotherapist with special interest in treating jaw and neck for further treatment and management. Thank you.
