Mariah is not appreciated enough. I see people bashing her constantly saying she's lost her voice now and that she's a diva. And now that Prince is gone there are very few like her left. We should be uplifting her and not bringing her down. She's one of the last legends we have still living besides a few others. Appreciate her while she's here because she won't be here forever.

Mariah Carey is the encyclopedia of what it means to use one's voice as an instrument. Galih Aria D No, this person shouldn't write them all of them in the past tense. Mariah, nowadays obviously doesn't have the agility, range, fluidity ect. that she once did before in her prime due to nodules and over working but you can't deny the fact that she can still sing to some degree and can produce her own songs written by herself of perhaps co-written. She's already proven herself long ago in addition as well and it's amazing to see that some people don't understand that her career started since 1990 (probably even in the late 80's). Let's see if you can still sing as good as her once you reach 50 (if you even can sing).

***** I have! :) I am not obsessed with her but I have listened to almost every recording she has put out throughout the years and yes, her talent is out of this world! Being dubbed - it's still her voice! Editing - Every song you listen to has some (or lots) of it, but even then it can't make a person sound much more talented than they are. Mariah is a freaking genius!

THIS performance is an example of her LEGENDARY musicianship. Though she dropped the key signature by a note, this performance is definitely the true meaning of perfection. Her timing, her accuracy, her runs are just so beautiful. Just listen to those agile vocal transitions from chest to falsetto in 2:40-2:43. Those arpeggios in 2:37-2:38! Her dynamic control! She can reinterpret the melody of the song without sounding awkward and shitty. ONE of the GREATEST musicians or possibly the GREATEST musician in mainstream pop music.

I hate where music has gone. The days of the powerhouse ballad are way gone. I miss it so much!!!! I am sure she knows this was the best time of her career. Treated me kind Sweet destiny Carried me through desperation To the one that was waiting for me It took so long Still I believed Somehow the one that I needed Would find me eventually I had a vision of love And it was all that you've given to me Prayed through the nights Felt so alone Suffered through alienation Carried the weight on my own Had to be strong So I believed And now I know I've succeeded In finding the place I conceived I had a vision of love And it was all that you've given to me I had a vision of love And it was all that you've given me I've realized a dream And I visualized The love that came to be Feel so alive I'm so thankful that I've received The answer that heaven has sent down to me You treated me kind Sweet destiny And I'll be eternally grateful Holding you so close to me Prayed through the nights So faithfully Knowing the one that I needed Would find me eventually I had a vision of love And it was all that you've given to me I had a vision of love And it was all that you turned out to be

+Cade Del Rey Did you just say Adele, whose vocal cords literally hemorrhaged from her terrible technique after her second album and has no sense of vocal placement or pitch, is "pretty close" to Mariah Carey vocally? Like...Adele's vocal cords literally exploded because of improper singing....TWICE...only after releasing two albums. My vocal cords are hemorrhaging from cackling at your comment. Also, prime Whitney could not run circles around prime Mariah. They excel in different ways that neither could replicate as well as the other. Incomparable. Your comment extremely underestimates Mariah's vocal prowess and is uninformed. Underwhelming a legend and then pitting her against another legend like they even sang the slightest similarly smh

Cade Del Rey Mariah "doesn't even have a voice anymore" because of other factors (her heavy alcohol consumption? stress of two failed marriages and miscarriages? pregnancy? rapidly releasing new material every year in the 90s and not taking breaks until 2001?). Her technique in the whistle register was virtually flawless, and because of that, she could use the whistle register as much as she wanted. That's why that register is still in tact today more than other parts of her voice. Considering all Mariah's songs are harder to sing, cover wider range, and have more vocal dynamics, yet her voice didn't hemorrhage after her second album whereas Adele's did....where's the lie? I don't see it tbh. I didn't say you said Adele was better than Mariah. I....literally....quoted....you. Hence, the quotations marks where I *quoted* you saying "pretty close." (quote: Cade Del Rey, 2016). I don't know if you think I was twisting your words or something because I used a direct quote in my scrutiny of your comment...lmao. If you want to have an opinion; then, you need to accept that others will have opinions also and may disagree with you...especially on a public forum smh. And no where in my comment did I say you (or anyone else) can't have an opinion, I just criticized your opinion...not the same thing, sweetheart :-) Learn to accept criticism better, I guess.

Scalping Degenerates hey man, I know you're a true Mariah fan bit people other than the true lambs know about technique or anything 'vocally'... If this person was informed like we are and still said Adele was better, then he'd be stupid, but he probably doesn't so chill... Obviously I get annoyed when people say things like Adele is just as goof or close to Mariah, because Adele is literally very average at singing, like she has no dynamics to her voice, it's just chest voice and a boring head voice...

Ross.White98 I respect you telling me that. I just wanted to set the record straight for people who don't know much about Mariah as vocalist and could get misleading information from someone who is spreading misinformation about Mariah as a vocalist. I think Adele deserves respect for what she does, but as soon as she is compared vocally to Mariah...that's just disrespectful to Mariah and needs to get called out.
