@@sandrod95 Trying to get Mariah to talk about feeling abandoned in her childhood and therefore relating to those kids, but Mariah had talked about that pretty extensively in the past and probably didn't want to bring it up yet again.

I'll answer Barbara's last question - because Mariah felt intensely abandoned and unloved as a child, hence she developed bi polar disorder, which she was diagnosed with just months before this interview.

Barbara Walters is such a great interviewer. I love how she cross-examined Mariah's answer on her interest about abandoned kids at the end. MC quite evaded answering on a personal note and just went for a politically correct answer, but it was a nice moment they had there.

This was 2002. Barbera did Mariah had the break down last fall. It this was 2001 then that would mean she had her break down in fall of 2000 and she didn’t. She had her break down in the summer of 2001 before glitter dropped. So this has to be 2002.
