unfortunately her whistles might leave her "speechless" too, or at least damage her belting range .. but yes, i agree, amazing gift she naturally has, i don't know if her technique was off or just overuse, alcohol, her vocal nodules (which many other singers have dealt with also) or age or a combination or what but regardless she has nothing left to prove anyway to anyone, and will be remembered as synonymous with singers with amazing voices, and i don't even really care for a lot of her songs personally, but recognize she had /has a lot of talent.

some singers can do simple whistle (sustained), some can add runs, some can control it more and even professionally, but i haven’t seen anybody having that beautiful airiness and vibrato and complexity like Mariah

Mariah has the best whistle control I’ve heard. For her to be professionally controlling It for 30 years and still singing the same hard songs shows she’s the best. I don’t know if even some of the other singers could sing emotions everyday like she did in the 90s

I think whistle is a disconnected register, while super head voice, being an extension of head voice, is connected.

Because literally no one can do half of everything Mariah Carey showed in live with her whistle register, not even remotely close to her vocal skills and control , and there is much more to see than these two minutes of video, she performed techniques that no one has ever been able to perform.
