She isnt a leviathan, but the working theory is currently that after the killed the leviathan and turned the carcass into a boat, she slowly ate parts of it (as said in her PDA entries) and because leviathans are immune to kara, she might have eaten just enough of the leviathan to get that same effect, hence why she is still alive

Unlikely, as her PDA logs show she was still getting infection symptoms. What is more likely to have happened, is she gained some better immune responses for a while, and when the planet was cured, she was as well.

@@Transformers2Fan1 Let me clarify what I ACTUALLY REFERRED TO. When I said the LOGS. I was referring to BELOW ZERO LOGS. I never mentioned original subnautica logs.

In Barts last log, he mentions he wants to go deeper and is seeing lights. Most people assume he was seeing crabsquid, and that may have been what killed him based on that one cover art thing, but I like to think the sea emperor was trying to contact him

Everything could pass if not for the trailers that are representing Degasi history. We see someone die to the crab squid before the aurora crash and we know it's Bart Torgal because Paul died last to the kharaa and Margarite "died" to the reaper. So, no. He died to a crab squid. Maybe the vision worsening was due to the fact that he was running out of oxygen and blood.

Not to be a nerd but Bart Torgal is actually the one she was bringing the reaper to as he was the “biologist” due to his education which Paul Torgal (his father) stated was paying off

wasnt a reaper, was likely a crabsquid (based on the description of “kraken” used by paul in his The End log) or a sea dragon due to its tentacles, also there’s a crabsquid outside of the degasi habitat where everything went down.

Adult Ghost leviathans eat microorganisms, they only attack you because they're very territorial, since they reaper was dead they didn't feel the need to attack, Margaret just slowly ate the reaper and was safe from the ghosts (I believe Chelicerates are the same way but I may be wrong)

She was in fact carried into the void, not deep down, but deep as in far away Most likely still close to the surface, since it floated rather quickly

She brought the reaper to bart so he could study it and when another followed the injured one to the grand reef base she fought it with a jagged piece of scrap metal not a prawn suit

it would be cool if in the first game in the distance you could see a reaper leviathan silhouette with a figure sitting/standing ontop of it

It's probably more likely it was a sea dragon and not a second reaper 1) the leviathan bashed its head against the base, like a sea dragon did in the disease research facility 2) we learn from the PDA that sea dragons occasionally swim to the dunes to hunt reapers and would likely follow an injured one 3) either Paul or bart describe the leviathan as kraken like and a reaper doesn't have tentacles but sea dragons do

Marguerite also probably would have learned what a sea dragon looked like after 12 years after living on the planet, but she makes no mention of it in any of her interactions or data logs

No yet they're herbivores to my knowledge at least It's much more likely that the reaper was producing an enzyme inside it that allowed it to survive and that was what maida was surviving off of,

It’s not entirely clear though I’d say Paul’s final log in which he says that the leviathan that attacked them “came out of nowhere” makes it more likely that it was a second Reaper, given that he could already see the first one.

I remember when I first encountered Marguerite in Below Zero and realized who she was. I was fanboying so hard!😂 I love when game sequels have side characters/stories that weren’t essential to the first games plot but help connect and expand world of the sequel in a way that feels more organic. It’s an amazing world building device. Marguerite was an perfect example of this because you see her character evolve between games with her final stance against the company, her modified equipment, and even her using scrap to tame the new stalkers which she learned from the son in the first game! This showed the passage of time and evolution of her with the world itself. Also, they took it one step further with her having a “folk-lore” status in the first game only for you to meet the legend herself in Below Zero. Perfection.

Chadguerite didn't use a prawn suit to kill the reaper, she used a piece of SCRAP METAL, she killed the deadliest creature in 4546b with half a knife

The reaper giveth and the reaper taketh. The irony is phenomenal. One of the most destructive and lethal aliens in the crater is also a huge contributor to why Maida survived against all odds.

Spoiler alert: They both most likely died. Paul, the old man, either drowned (“my oxygen’s running low, I can’t see the sky”) or was mauled or eaten by a creature (Warper? Crabsquid? He says in his last PDA that he thought he saw a light and followed it. It sounds to me like it was either a Warper teleporting or a Crabsquid using an EMP. Either way, it was a terrible decision. And we know Warper’s definitely attack if you have Kharaa, which he did). Bart the young man likely died of Kharaa on the island where you find the last PDA from him. He escaped the deep base flooding and returned to the island, believing he was the sole survivor. He probably continued to study the disease, but ultimately found no timely solution and succumbed.

Bart is coughing severely at the end and his image fades away before the Aurora crash occurs, implying that he no longer exists. This happens even before the seaweed starts to grow on his base, further implying that he’s been dead for awhile before our character crashes on the planet.

The true size of the frozen leviathan is just a little bit bigger than a sea dragon. It's not even as big as the sea emperor

This was pretty scary doing this without any modules

I dunno about you but whenever I meet a reaper, they just wreck me immediately or have a seizure. They never carry me miles away to the north pole to meet the giger penguins.

I thought it was the crab squid who attacked their base since the power in their tools and base went out

Huh, a Reaper leviathan tried to kill me like this (with the prawn suit too)

She could not have gotten the prawn suit at least not until she found her way to sector zero because the mercury two had already been there for almost a century before the first game takes place in the mercury 2 shipwrecks you can PRAWN suit fragments.. which might explain how she unlocked the blueprint however, what’s interesting is her customized PRAWN is able to effortlessly hover in open air environments… the PARWN we use endgame cannot do that if you try and use your jump jets, it doesn’t actually let you hover

I bought a rwaper leviathan in my prawn suit once, I grappled onto it and drilled into its skull Man was it glorious

small correction, paul died while this was happening after possibly chasing the light of the sea emperor but unfortunately ending up face to face with a crabsquid, while bart survives until he dies to the bacteria.

That's assuming there's no other leviathan class life forms we don't know about, also the average human wouldnt be able to kill a reaper even in his wildest dreams That's like killing a blue whale, only that the blue whale is 2x larger, MUCH MUCH faster, much more aggressive and has mandibles that if they grab you, you die
