I think to a lot of people Black Metal is not simply just music, its a reflection of a lifestyle and of the feelings of those creating and those listening to it. I think people who are involved with it can relate to and identify with its concepts and content. Otherwise, they'd probably be listening to something else.

I am an old fan and though I miss the glory days when I was 20 I am now 40 and love the newer Marduk at 40 more than I do the old. But loved the older stuff when I was young. I g u love Marduk like I do just but all of there stuff and listen to all there albums. Each one is good and some are faster and and some slower. Just embrace them for they are all great. ROM.12 wormwood and this one. Are my favorite Marduk amongst enslaved vertebrae and newer satyricon as well

I think every family should listen to this music.

While I'm not sure if I would put Marduk as one of my favourite extreme metal bands, I can't help but love Mortuus' vocals - he's got to be one of my favourite vocalists for all of extreme metal. His screams/growls/snarls are so fucking sinister, maniacal, diabolical and simply evil (not to mention unique), and are some of the most perfect vocals for the extreme styles of metal - I can picture him fitting in other types of bands, not just black metal.

GeneralOwn3D I'm sure I'll get around to both of those bands eventually - I mean, your black metal journey is never truly complete - but it won't be for a while. I have such a huge list of bands throughout black metal alone (coinciding with a gigantic list of extreme metal in general) that I have yet to explore, so I'll have to put Devian and Witchery on hold for a while. I HAVE checked out Funeral Mist though, picking up Salvation on CD about a month or 2 ago, and they are pretty wicked! They remind me of a Swedish Deathspell Omega

This what I love for heavy metal and variants, catchy riffs, not a hundred different riffs in one song.

Brutal! I love everything about this! The vocals with echo! The layers of guitars! Atmosphere! Total package!!!!!!

Marduk really stepped it up...like holy shit man that has got to be the 1 band that is over the top notch shit and seriously earned my #1 spot for the genre

Those drums are tremendous and I'm almost 99% certain there's no triggers or any pro tools beat detective rubbish either. The drums sound well roomy which is a bold mix decision for music at this tempo. I like it. A lot.

Mortuus is a good vocalist Aka Arioch, he is one of the best vocalist's for this genre,I have to say, I like him even better when he does the vocals in Funeral Mist, when he blends the hrash with the normal voice,it is just realy amacing if you ask me, nobody will ever be like Mortuus Aka Arioch.

DAYUM!!!These guys are just as relevant today as they were in the nineties.This song is Ti-iight!What always attracted me to black-metal more than any other genre of metal is its ugliness and rawness.Yeah they wear corpse-paint and fake blood but not to look glorious or trendy but because it portrays the essence of this type of music.If I could only live my life over again,I wouldn't want anything more but to be even in the most obscure black-metal band.I can never get enough.It's astonishing!

Why compare this music with other styles? Why to even talk about religion here... Its just art, open your ears and mind and try to understand it... If you can not understand it it is ok, but respect it.. Every artist, every style, genre, deserves respect... Even if you dont understand it, dont think this is just "noise".. You know how much work there is here?.. do you feel the power coming out from the instruments?.. believe me: you need to have great skills to be able to play this and to have a proper sound, clean.. Yes, clean... Every instrument has to be performed perfectly, and the post production here must be very detailed... The same with the singer: to sing like this requires an incredibly technique! If you just listen to this superficially, without understanding and trying to get it, you can say: ahhh this is just noise.. everybody can do this. But when you do a bit of research, you can understand how much work is this.
