Marcus Smart - Lockdown

Спорт

If you haven't already noticed, Marcus Smart is as determined and dogged a defender as there has been in this league. He and Avery Bradley just make life miserable on the perimeter. He's tenacious, tireless and absolutely impossible to screen. Defense isn't just about steals and blocks so pay close attention to his ball denial, active hands, solid footwork and savvy to get around screens, and his ability to beat a guy to a spot. It was a pleasure to make this and I'm looking forward to watching Smart for years to come.
Obviously I couldn't capture all of his terrific work on the defensive end, even when you account for the fact that he's a rookie, so I did what I could with what was available. I do apologize for the sudden drops in quality and the fluctuating audio.

    He has the total package on defense- IQ, hustle, toughness, footwork, quick hands, length. Should win multiple All-Defense awards in his career. If the offense gets anywhere close? Celtics got an all-star.

    Smart was the best defender on the team the moment he stepped on the floor, and that's not a sleight to Avery Bradley. Physical man defender , great anticipatory skills, plays the passing lanes well, and can play help defense from one pass away and still recover back to his defender. He's special on the defensive end

  • @treerunner1
    @treerunner18 жыл бұрын

    The scary part for the rest of the league is that he is only 21. So he's still got 3 or 4 more years before he hits his physical prime. In other words he's only going to get better for the next 3 or 4 years. His ceiling is ridiculously high right now.

    +Cory Palmer TOTALLY, agree, i just LOVE watching players who shine because of their defense, its just really special to be a defensive player who shines above the rest, you see offense everywhere, dunkers, 3pt shooters, yea yea, almost everyone can do that, but really, there are very few players who shine because of their defense, and i find the people who do VERY, fun to watch, and i have so much respect for them, i would watch the celtics even though am not particularly a fan, JUST, to watch this guy play defense, and that says A LOT.

    watching highlights like this makes me want to play better defense. I mean i am only 5 9' but you would be surprised if you put the effort in then you can really get things done on that side of the court. for example i managed to get 5 blocks and 3 steals in game just by putting in 100 per cent.
