+Frank M ... Hey, Frank. :) I don't agree with your sentiment, but if you are sincere, there a lot of ways you can 'serve'. Find a vet, or two, or more, in your neighborhood. If the vet lives in a house, and needs help mowing his yard, do it for him/her every two weeks. Help with shopping. Maybe a ride somewhere, once in awhile. Volunteer at the VA. Etc. Or, heck, the vet may just need company, from time to time. You will feel great, and the vet will be very appreciative! Then, start recruiting family and friends to do the same thing. (Just make sure you are not helping a 'poser'.) NOTE: There are some things, that most people take for granted, and never really 'think' about... like taking a bath, or a shower. I don't know you, so it may take some 'gumption' on your part, but that may be something a vet really needs help with. If you already do all of the above, I, for one, thank you! I am honestly not trying to lecture you. You probably know what I am about to say. ... Every one has a certain degree of pride. Befriend the vet first. Then work your way into helping, if needed. While (the right kind of) pride can be good, it can also be detrimental. Sometimes its hard not to appear disrespectful, depending on that degree of pride. Best wishes!

As a Veteran I finally received my military veteran disability compensation, outstanding Care from VA hospital in Wash, DC and was able to obtain my college degree under VRAP. Thank you President Obama and The first lady Michelle Obama.

+William Coghill ... VRAP did some good, but it also screwed a great number of vets by leaving them burdened with school financial debt, because it short-staffed and did not pay-out in time. Anyway, you sound like a political, propaganda commercial, not a vet. How did you get a college degree under VRAP. It only allowed for 12 months of payments, under $1,500 a month?

It should have been a program that allowed the vet to pick a major, tech skill, etc, and help him/her to obtain that goal, whether it took one year, _ or eight_! Or, heck, _twelve_! If a person wants to be something like a doctor or an attorney, etc, that person is not going to be able to work full time and go to college full time for such classes. $1,4xx a month, for one year!? Pathetic! And, it was not just the vets that did not get paid, way to many, of course, could not even complete their schooling because the program was way too short. ASIDE: Anyway, what can you do? BS propaganda, _everywhere_!

Guys please no personal attacks, it's silly and we can all make points without taking things personal.(something I need to work on anyways) no sarcasm or patronising comments needed to get our points across, we are all here because we care about this country that has been a bit hijacked by the establishment. This can be our common ground to build from...feel free to express constructive ideas. We can ignore the inflammatory remarks.

Trump wants to ban Muslims, and apparently so does Luttrell, even the one that saved his life. Nothing brave about cashing in on lies and hiding behind a lawyer.

Marcus Luttrell is an absolutely amazing person, who managed to survive the un-survivable. Ive read his book, and watched the amazing movie covering it, Honestly he isn't supporting trump for the wrong reasons, He is supporting Trump because he truly believes Trump will stand for America's security. Unfortunately I don't believe in Trump's message, I feel as though Trump is conning us, much like Hillary is, into believing he is Pro America. I cannot support Trump, but I fully support Marcus Luttrell, and have the utmost respect for his service to our country.

I want to respect Marcus Luttrell, but I do not, because I cannot compartmentalize his character - nor do I give him a pass simply because he was a SEAL or is a Veteran. Luttrell made up a lot of shit in his book. Maybe some can overlook the lies, as I know Trump supporters do of Trump. But Luttrell is a real piece of shit the way he used and abandon the man that saved his life. Marcus is an ungrateful liar, using the SEAL's name in vein, and for personal gain. I mean, who the fk says they didn't kill someone because they themselves are Christian, and in the same breath says they didn't kill them because of the liberal media? lol A delusional, double-speaking con-man. It makes perfect sense why Luttrell would be a paid speaker at a Trump nomination convention.
