I met MR. Luttrell in Milwaukee on July 11th. Super cool guy in which I respect on so many levels. Those eyes have been witness to unthinkable carnage on this earth while serving in the Seal teams. I truly hope he finds peace in himself and sounds like he's on the right track. Much respect and gratitude to Marcus and his family.

I was no Navy Seal but just an Army infantry grunt who was wounded in Vietnam 50 years ago. I ended up spending almost a year and a half flat on my back on a device called a Stryker frame. It was the worse time of my life. I refused any physical therapy and came home. Adjusting was rough but no matter what the VA doctors told me I thought screw you. I lived my life the way I decided to live and not the way the VA thought I should. They even told me back then if I listened to them and did what they told me to do I could expect possibly 25 years of quality life. That was 50 years ago and at 75 years of age I don't see changing any of my plans in order to make the VA happy. I think what Marcus went through had to have been nothing but pure hell. I'm proud of him and proud of my own son who flew for the Navy as an officer. Getting up near the end of my life and I really think that some of us may get recycled back into a defender of life. Just my thoughts after watching this video. God bless Marcus and all super hero's like him.

I had the honor of meeting Mr. Luttrell in late 2010 @ IAH at about 8pm. Prior, I told my wife for a couple years that he's the one person I'd like to meet and shake his hand. And while I was waiting for my luggage he grabbed his right next to me. I got to look him right in the eye and tell him he is a good man and shake his hand. That moment changed my life totally. He's a good man and unapologetically Christian. Thankfully, America has alot of good men like him on our side.

Marcus, my dog Peanut has gone blind and is about to have surgery to restore her sight, so I'm very emotional lately. People who don't have and love a dog, do not understand how a dog stops being a "dog" and becomes your family. Friend. Companion. Etc. If anyone did to my dog what these punks did to your dog, I would not be able to show the restraint you have, (And I should as I am 45 year old) and I commend you for that. For what you've gone through in life, to me, you're about as squared away as a person could be. Marcus, keep the positive in your grasp and let the BS go..... Easier said that done I know, because I have failed at doing so, SO many times in my life. My dog Peanut and I thank you for your story and example....

Or been in a fire fight and your the last one alive ? Would you be in the right state of mind ? Bet not. And for you to sit there as a 3rd person to call out a person that you have no clue what their about or wasnt there.. How would you know.. You werent there. In stead you should be be thankful for the blanket of safty or freedom that this man has given you or other vets have put in place for you so you can sit back like a lil bitch and cry. You dont like it ... Set up and grab a rifle and do what he did. Or step a side. I am done with you. Because your not worth my time

For some reason this reminds of the movie 300. There were those who understood what had to be done and those who were corrupt. The corrupt one's are the one's who do that to dogs.

If you are a sober person, you would recognize that this guy was almost out, and that Afghan man saved his life although it cost him his cosine’s life, and his house was burned out. Why? Because he just wanted to save a stranger. . . . The Afghan man deserved the Medal of Honor, and the movie should be on HIM. They say when it comes to Money and Fame, you would get blind. They are absolutely right, unless you are paralyzed or drunk.

Yessir you are right! Gulab did a great deed that day! So did his village. Medal of Honors do go to military and not civillians.. however, I believe that many here pushed for Gulab to have assylum here in the United States. The movie director did a good job focusing on the good that the Afghan man did for Marcus. There has also been many interviews with the Afghan man (Gulab) informing the people here that he had indeed lost family helping Marcus. It is good that they have this info out..cause it shows the goodness in others from other cultures.

The buddies you lost that day would want you to be doing the things you are doing. Explaining to Americans the things you are explaining and taking as good of care of your family as possible. Moving on with life. We all will die some day. When that day comes, rather you are 25 or 95 you are going to want to stay. A 85 year old wants to see their grandson or great grandson play one more season of ball. One more Thanksgiving with the family. But, sooner or later, we will be gone and the way we lived our life up to that point is what matters.
