Amor fati Ryan! Could you explore what stoicism would say about the flipside of death, worring too much. I AGREE with your thoughts but also see that WAY too many think that being "alive is the same as living". What would the stoics say about how government, "experts", and huge large companies are using our fear of death against us? THANK YOU for spreading empowerment rather than fear. Very courageous my dear friend. you inspired me to start my blog. Forever grateful to you!

How would the Stoics view catharsis? I've been having some painful memories that I need to let go of, and have got quite emotional about it, but I don't view it as a bad thing. I haven't sunk into depression as I would have done in the past. I feel relieved that I've let these pent up emotions out and necessary for my continued progress to become a self-actualized human being.

Loving your content, Mr. Holiday. Thank you for offering this freely! There appear to be many parallels in Stoicism to Zen and Mahayana Buddhism. Most evidently here is the concept of consistent action; enlightenment is not a destination but a utilization of the opportunity to practice every moment. Both contain 4 fundamental virtues as well- the traits of the Buddha are peace, joy, friendliness, and equanimity. I would love a deep dive into the parallels of these complimentary philosophies and how each were applied to the variables of their respective environments and placements in history. Cheers!

Always aim for something when you are completely disciplined. Don’t practice what you don’t want to become, know this and live by it. To make the world a better place first do the things you have to do everyday, and actually do them, everyday. Where there's growth, there's progress, and where there's progress, there is change, and that is a massive part of life. Repair what is in disorder, and make what is already good, better.

Embrace something greater than the virtues of stoicism is where I embrace the doctrines of Jesus. Mercy yes, but grace more so. We all have a sense of justice, but grace muddles all of it and requires everything from us. We can choose to embrace Amor Fati at that point and become greater for the effort.
