Converting my 17' Uhaul box van/box truck into a mobile tiny home.
In part 26, I prepare the truck for its first official outing. This entails beautifying a lot of the externally-facing components with new paint, trim etc. Also, we finish the kitchen wall with outlets, switches and marble backsplash tile.

Well done your wall papering looks great and like you mentioned in a previous video it elevates the whole luxury high end look. I find when you do these little details it really highlights the overall look and feel of the project. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊 🤙🌞💪

That contact cement is impressive. I typically use thinset and its a big pain in the ass if to get it the right consistency.

Park anywhere industrial. The box truck will blend in with other trucks, semi's, etc.

Reisner Street does have great views of the skyline, but a truck parked right next to a big city PD's central station could draw attention for more than just suspicion of camping. (Think OKC.) Dem boys can get serious in a hurry. I vote on-street just down the way in front of their credit union on Memorial Drive. It slightly better skyline views, is adjacent to apartment complexes where box trucks are frequent visitors, and has a little pedestrian bridge leadsing across the busy street for a pleasant, compact and photogenic exploration of the Sabine Street bridge, a skatepark, the Cistern and Buffalo Bayou Park. Stop in at Fonde Rec Center and you might catch some serious basketball pickup games. If not there, know that anywhere in downtown, midtown or EADO with parking meters will be free after 6 and all weekend. Maybe attend an Astros or Dynamo game and return to your overnight home just a block or two away?

I love the wireless entry! I hope you took precautions in that design to prevent hacking. Otherwise it could be a vulnerability for someone to gain entry.

Stealth/obfuscation is the only current protection. It's a very basic wireless transmitter, not based on bluethooth or wifi, so there's no signal being broadcasted that would give it away. Unless you watch me open it, you would never know it's wireless!

@@TheTechnoBarbarian True. Someone would have to watch you open it, or watch your KZread video and target you personally. They would have to be within range to capture the signals the remote produced when pressing buttons. If the signals are encrypted, that would make things more difficult for a hacker to reproduce. I would look into it, if not for security, but what happens if the remote is lost or broken? Are the remotes universal within the manufacturer?

Well executed build. Is it possible to flip the actuator for the upper rear hatch? Would make it look cleaner with less dangling cable.

Thanks! The brackets prevent it from being mounted the other way due to the angles. I'll be exploring custom bracket possibilities in the future

I always thought a random “middle class” neighborhood is bar to set against it stealth is stealth. Most neighborhoods have lots of nosey people. The Karen of the street doesn’t notice The rig is officially stealth. Lol.
