About damn time Marine WTH! good review! This is what I use for my HT. Love it, has 3 HDMI outs for my Ent. area, streaming for my zone 3 patio area.

Now that is a machine! That back panel full of inputs is awesome. Love the minimalist aesthetics of the front panel. That flip down door is a great feature. Inputs galore, awesome!

your approach is pretty clever i like how dream media are able to get you merch you can review without having to deal with manufacturer. a bonus to your videos is that dream media gets to showcase their offerings so consumers know what to expect and what they can use for their setups. nice job.

Yeah Zak at DREAMEDIA home theaters has been really cool. I asked to review the av8805 and he said that no one has shown the 5014 and 6014 so he wondered if i would do all of them. Hes a great guys and their business is taking off 100%. I like working with texas companies too, so thats a bonus.

Yeah when looking in this price range you kinda have to wait to see what happens with new HDMI standard and for me I am waiting to see what the Monoprice HTP-1 brings. I am pretty sure they will hit the ground running, unlike the RMC-1.

the monoprice unit coming out is a rebadged datasat processor. its Older tech, but good none the less

Has Denon fixed Heos? Mine is most likely their first gen unit that featured heos and it was pretty lousy. Would not connect, the app crashed etc..

I don’t think one is necessarily better than the other. It is VERY subjective...depends on your taste in HOW you like to hear your music played. I personally LOVE the Marantz sound, but it may not be for everyone.

I don't think you are correct about DTS Virtual:X. You are mistaking it with Neural:X which upconverts to more channels. Virtual:X does the opposite - it tries to achieve surround effect using fewer speakers. If you have only 2 speakers it will take the surround signal and output it in 2 speakers and will try to give you a surround effect.

DTS Virtual:X is more for soundbars and 2.1 systems. DTS:X itself is capable to deliver propper surround sound regardless of room size, layout, or speaker configuration not with a help of Virtual:X processing. For me DTS Virtual:X sounds really bad. Feels like sitting inside a phasing bubble.

A lot of those inputs on the back are extraneous, if you can afford it you can afford to replace a player that uses component, and whats with all of the analog audio inputs? The balanced outs are nice, glad that most pre-pros have those now.

I have a few questions maybe you can help: Are the heights (height1, height2 and height3) discreet channels or do they all pump out the same sound? I’ve just been told that Surround Back channels are actually “mono” and both speakers pump out the same sound. True? Thank you so much

@@BrunoDeMarques This processor has 4 height's, and those are discrete, meaning you can have up to 8 separate "ceiling" speakers for Atmos, all discrete. Example: Height 1 can be Height front, Height 2 can be Height mid, etc. (they are probably assignable, as is the case with my receiver, the Onkyo RZ730 which has 2 heights for a total of 4 "atmos" ceiling speakers, so you can decide which height will be which) About the surround back, that is the case with Dolby Pro Logic, but all the newer audioformats have separate discrete channels

That Home Theater Dude Denon and Marantz announced a couple months ago that they would start making receivers compatible with MQA streaming music. I’m thinking they would do it through Tidal. My Yamaha Aventage receiver is compatible with Tidal but not MQA. I’ve been thinking about getting the Marantz pre/pro but I might wait until it can stream MQA music. Does make any sense?

amplifiers= amplify sound. Pre amplifiers take a source like a cd player, redord player, or apple tv and process the sound. you then connect your pre amp to an amp and then you connenct your amp to your speakers. sooooo cd to pre amp to amp to speakers. its easy peasy lemon squeezy. hope that helps

Basically an AV Pre amp is a receiver WITHOUT any built in amps. You have to buy separate amps with a preamp.

0wpc... this is a processor. there are no amplifiers included

All these avrs/pre pros from sound united all operate the same. You really only paying for slightly sound improvement you'll barley noticed if you have well made efficient speakers.

pretty much, but isolation may play a factor and marantz has a signiture sound thats different than dennon. Plus i dont think denon makes a pre/pro

The AV8805 is not a receiver (AVR). It's a pre-amp so 30 lbs is plenty heavy for a pre-amp. For example, the RMC-1 is 22 lbs and the Mcintosh MX160 is 32 lbs. You should never compare the weight of a pre-amp with an AVR. Not the same.

It's HDMI 2.0 right now - but they will offer an upgrade (Price isn't known yet) option where you send the unit to a Marantz service center with a promised two day turn around when HDMI 2.1 becomes available.

wow its £3,299.90 it cost more than every other item I have apart from the house and its not even an amp.

I can’t wait until they get rid of all the red and white connections on these nicer avrs. Quit supporting old technology! Do i need/ want all these low quality inputs? No. Do i want the build quality, sound and new features? Yes. Give me more earc’s and incorporate them into more devices. Get rid of the red and white, component, and yellow video.

All these new digital amp's-reciver ain't shit not powerful at all will over heat old school reciver's are the best Reciver
