I think another valid A/B comparison would be using the same exact calibration file on both units. They both run MultEQ X32, so under the same measurement conditions, the results should be the same. You can upload the same measurement file from the App or via MultEQ X platform on PC. If the same calibration file sounds better on one machine over another, then the processing is arguably different. If it sounds the same, then no need to spend the extra coin for the same system…

Love it! Thanks guys! Given today’s available content/4K Blu-rays, any reason to even go 13.1 ? OR does 11.1 cover?

Did I miss the part where the sound of each was discussed? Video title caught my interest but never got to substance of the topic at hand.

Get the Marantz 8015 which has better/cleaner preamp outputs than the 7705/6. The 8805 is next level!

8015 Avr is a flagship model in Avr section but when compared to Av 7706 pre it's sounds better and perfome much better...only difference is 8015 have 13 ch,unbalanced output but its made in Japan(Dac is also different)and 7706 has only 11 ch. And have xlr output

From what I could find, recently made 8805A units no longer have the AKM DAC due to chip shortages. They now include the ES9010 DAC. Does it sound better? Depends on preference.

Grab a 8805A before it is discontinued.
