A tribute to qawwali legend, Maqbool Ahmed Sabri (lead singer of Sabri Brothers ensemble from Pakistan) on the occasion of his birth anniversary today (October 12).
This is an attempt to show my love and respect to the legend who had a great impact on me with his soothing voice. I wanted to make a video of around 15-20 minutes, but soon realized that his greatness cannot be contained in this small time frame. I tried to make it as short as possible but it went on to nearly 40 minutes, but still not enough to show his versatility properly.
I hope admirers of Maqbool Sabri would like this video. Comments about the maestro are always welcome. I would also like to have comments about my own attempt, whether good or bad. So please do give your honest feedback.

He took the Sabri brethren group to great heights throughout the world and was loved and followed by millions of dire heart fans. Best part 05:37 to 12:41. Never heard such amazing rendition in such a beautiful style. Sad such a great talent is no longer with us. Can someone suggest his best ghazals and qawwalis. Thanks for the great upload.

most of sabri's qawwalis on youtube are suffered from bad recording, bad mic settings, anad bad audio engineering. They were great before 1985 or so, after that he cant sing as better as he would do in past
