But that lady doing that is just a joke because of people from outside criticising against dog meat our government banned it !!! But it's our tradition we cannot just leave it like that so it was kinda illegal in a way for her to sell that's why she was like that

Yes I think you are right ,I also somehow felt so that she was joking but same she didn’t want us to make video about her shop ,may be the same reason you mentioned. But I got to say one thing that Nagaland people are amazing. Thanks for the pointing out this.

It's not about being legal or illegal, if you want to take a picture or a video of someone, you needed his or her consent after all. Looks like she didn't want to be in your video..u should not have made this video. This video makes no sense because this is completely and genuinely legal in our customary land.

If you can eat goat meat, then there should be nothing stopping you from eating beef or dog's meat. Local cultures have evolved over the years and one should not criticize them. Just because you eat paneer and chicken, doesnt mean that other things are taboo.

Your thumbnail may attract viewers from the mainland Indian’s and the so called Dog lovers who only care about their expensive breed forgetting about stray Dogs, but it is not a right way to portray our state with beautiful cultures and traditions There are lots of beautiful places in Nagaland and you can visit and explore learn about our traditions and showcase that to the other parts of the country but instead you decided to put a Dog Meat on your thumbnail??

When outsiders come to Nagaland we treat them with love and respect and welcome them with the best way we possibly can but some people take that for weakness.. Please don't misunderstand us.. We know our culture and tradition and we are proud of it and preserve it from generation to generation... And the lady doing that is because of the some things which the government banned us but we will continue selling it.. And continue to eat dog meat.. Of course there are some who don't eat but it's personal choice.. We don't force anyone.. So in Nagaland we live by the code "you mind your business, we will mind our business.. And if you interfere it's not going to end well for anyone".. Please don't misunderstand us its the way we are...

Nzacatherine . I agree with you even though other brainless nagas are criticising and condemning the woman without knowing what's really going on . This is a very sensitive topic so why take videos of someone selling a dog meat of all things . People make fun of us for eating dogs and they get scared of us thinking that we go around cutting necks so no need to create more videos to make things even worst . This kind of videos might start another fire all over India and my dear tourist, go around and enjoy the beautiful place instead of focusing on this dog meat thing like most outsiders does . It really makes me mad .

Some traditions need to be changed. We don't need to remain in the cruelty and ignorance of the past. Dogs are our friends. I wish this had English subtitles because I am in Kohima now where I can cook. I don't eat mammal meat or maggots (saw that in Dirampur) but I might find useful ideas like the dried chicken pieces to make a soup against the cold. There don't seem to be dairy products like homemade curd I found in Shillong or fresh white cheese. In Japan and China and other parts of the East they don't use dairy, is that the influence here? I need calcieum. I dont see green veggies like broccoli either even the climate is appropriate. A challenge.

Some of us Nagas do eat dog meat and some don't but we coexist together as human beings without attacking or trash talking about each other's food habit. Some of you eat cow dung and drink cow urine but some of you don't. So, therefore, stop interfering in each other's choice of food unless they're resorting to cannibalism. Also the choice of words and thumbnail that you use can misled certain people but we understand that you're using it to gain views and likes as well. Just be a human and everything else will fall in order. Peace!
