Finding your channel and listening to you play was one of the reasons that motivated me to buy myself a mandolin so thank you! Just started learning this particular song, so much fun to play.

Tergal14 you're my mandolin hero. what I wouldn't give to pluck them strings like you do. you make my day every day, whilst simultaneously filling me with sorrow that i'll never mandolin like you mandolin. Though dammit I'll try. Thanks!

I know the feeling bro. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is ask myself "What would Tergal14 do?"

Thank you for posting this. I have been trying to learn this one and that underlying beat you maintain through the piece is the key that has unlocked it for me.. You are very good!

The Collings is louder, has more playability, better sustain et reverb. The Gibson has this vintage sound and feel... The Gibson is a keeper, just like the Collings. Thank you.

Really great stuff - do you have any preference between your Gibson and your Collings in sound or playability?

It's a Gibson 'A' style mandolin, made in the 1920s. The top and back are both carved.

@@gam1471 It looks like an A2, but I suspect that it's an A2Z.

I also have a 1920’s (probably’21) A-3. What gauge of strings do you have on yours? Are the phosphor or monel? Thanks and great playing there!

Jade Tiger my understanding is that the fingerings are identical so you’d really just have to develop right hand technique
