Reels: Glasgow / Julie Delaney's
Музыка
A pair of reels in D minor on tenor banjo. The Glasgow reel is also known as Tam Lin. The version of Julie Delaney's, and especially the dramatic backing, is quite close to Bothy Band's version.
The tenor banjo is Pilgrim's Celtic Dawn model 2, and the backing instrument is a Finnish-made Oakbridge Instruments Irish Bouzouki in GDAD tuning.

bravo, nice job
Niilo, Just wanted to say thank you for all of the great videos! I am a newer mandolin player (Octave and standard) who is starting to make some decent strides in his development. I also play the Irish whistle (Low and standard D), and the Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer. My style of music appears to fall directly in line with yours. I love Irish tunes: reels, hornpipes, jigs etc. I have been eyeing an Irish Tenor Banjo for some time, but telling myself no, I cannot have ANOTHER instrument... but... you have pushed me over the edge. So, THANKS!!! Keep up the great work man, people like you get other people excited about music! P.S. I learned the tune Julia Delaney after watching this video, it's so cool! All the best, -Anthony

@@NiiloSirola I agree. I love this music. I play the hammer dulcimer,D penny whistle and mandolin. This banjo sounds WONDERFUL!
These are two of my favourite tenor banjo melodies. I am learning the first ( no triplets yet) & I am daunted by the second but I'll tackle it.
Fabulous.

io ho trovato le tabs di tutte e due le reels su www.mandolessons.com, ma ci sono sicuramente anche su www.mandozine.com e su www.thesession.org.
Irish bouzouki has such a great tone.
I see thst intersting accompaniment & would like to know more about it..octave mando? tuning & chords. Very nice complement to the banjo.

Thanks! It's an Irish bouzouki in GDAD tuning, although the difference from octave mandolin is not big. I've actually put the chords up in the video description

uriel prince sure, and if it's in the usual GDAE tuning then the fingerings are the same as well
They go so well together - well played! Do you have sheet music for that exact melody line :)?

Pilgrim Celtic Dawn Model 2. Get 19 frets on it but I don't remember ever venturing even above the 7th..
Amazing! I love the sound of the Open Back Banjo much more than the Resonator Banjos in most Irish/Celtic music. To me it sounds more natural. Can I ask what key your Banjo is tuned to? Thanks!!
