I too am WAY more interested in the Mandolin TV show than the Rise of Skywalker. The main thing Star Wars has been missing until now has been the lack of any live action TV show. I generally prefer TV shows over movies because they can go so much more into depth with charactors and world building.

Jango Fett is from Concordia. He was adopted into the Mandalorian culture by Jaster Mereel, who was betrayed by Death Watch and murdered. Fett took his revenge, destroyed Death Watch, and led the True Mandalorians until his group was wiped out by then-Jedi Master Dooku at Galidraan. this experience not only motivated Dooku to start questioning the Jedi order, it also made him seek out Fett when seeking a clone template. Fett, recognizing that Dooku was a Sith and anticipating that this clone army would one day be used against the Jedi, allowed his DNA to be used as a template, and recruited many of his old Mandalorian colleagues to train the Clones. Lucasfilm's efforts to undercut the Fett fame and lineage by making them "common bounty hunters" won't change the truth we all know. the Fetts are Mando'ade.

Jango's sister also survived. She was in a mental institution or asylum in Coruscant. A jedi who decided to leave the order because it wasn't really good got her out of there. His name was Bardan Juusik. Joined Kal Skirata 's growing clan of clone troopers with their wives and even other mandalorians like Walon Vau, a former Separatist scientist. Bardan became a Jedi Mandalorian or force wielding one since he was no longer that.

Agreed. Far as I'm concerned, the Fetts (especially Jango) will always be Mandalorians, whose lives and experiences were the bedrock upon which Mandalorian culture was based.

But the point was that mandalorians don’t judge an entire group. Bardan and Etain were made mandalorians, so was Scout (according to Karen). And in the end, delta and omega didn’t serve Jedi, they did their duty until they could safely leave.

Kote at Manda'yaim! One of my favorite factions in Star Wars. One of the few that can fight the Jedi/Sith on equal terms without being outmatched or showing fear.

But may I inquire you to do a revised version, where you portray the much richer and greater Mandalorian culture of the EU instead of the current canon? You could cover the Resol‘nare (six tenets of Mandalorian life), the Civil war between Jaster Mereel‘s Supercommandos and the Death Watch under Tor Viszla, the beautifully constructed language and so on. Mandalore has much deeper and more meaningful history than current canon may let you think OYA MANDA! Thank you for the video. What is the background soundtrack of this video called?

There's no mention of the mandalorians being originally a race, no mention of the Mandalore uniting the clans to end their warfare, and as far as I recall, the mandos didn't go out into the galaxy and clash against the Jedi out of their own volition, but because Qel-Droma and the Krath used them as their arm in the Great Sith War. The Jedi/Mandalorian rivalry started there. Didn't go on after the recap jumping to "the waning days of the republic." No mention of the Sith Wars or the Mandalorian Wars.

Mandalorian clans strike me as closely resembling those of the old Scottish Highlands of long ago.

Great video as always, but why no mention of Beskar and Mandalore's mask? It's a pretty cool piece of lore and would fit nicely in describing why Mandalorians were so effective fighting the force users. Especially the influence of Revan on modern Mandalore

6:42 isn't a Mandalorian. She's just a bounty hunter, an ally of Sabine Wren.

Reminds me of a character I played in Star Wars D20 (tabletop roleplay). A wookie. Who ended up adopting Mandalorian ideals and more importantly their armor. A 1,80m Mandalorian in armor is intimidating. A 2,30m one is utterly terrifying.

You forgot to mention the fact that the mandalorians were originally taung that lived on Coruscant before humanity pushed then from their home and they had to find a new home. Also before the Dark Saber, Mandalores Mask is what signified Mandalore. Whoever claimed the mask ruled the people.

@@orbaitv5991 Ironic really, Disney sets up the Mando's as neutered pacifists in the Clone wars only to go nope, the fans like it better in legends and so did a gradual 180 during the Rebels ark where the Mando's finally embraced again what they truly are. The scariest most lethal non force users in the galaxy and the only non force users to got toe to toe with sith and Jedi.

I would like to counter that, they didn't say Mandalorians were a race, instead of a culture. Disney has gone with that, and Lucas himself has said Boba and Jango are not Mandalorian (Despite having Jango speak Mando'a in Episode 2, and Boba understanding). They even have the pictures of baselisk droids, which are not Canon, rather Legends. It's a mix, avoiding the obvious parts the Fandom has come to hate more and more.

Sorry to burst your bauble, but the Disney Mandelorain are the Canonical Lucas Mandelorians. The old EU Mandelorians were deemed non canonical by George himself even before Disney Bought the Star Wars franchise. The new Mandelorain Canon was first shown in the CGI Clone Wars series, which George Lucas direct influence over and was considered G Canon even by old EU standards.

Especially with Leland Chee who is a part of the current storygroup at Lucasfilm confirming Lucas loved the EU and considered it part of the canon before the Disney buyout.

Disney's version of Mandalorians is the watered down version of them. Mostly moving towards the pacifist direction. While the Death Watch were the real Mandalorian culture.
