ETH wanted Rashy to stay & encouraged MUFC to give him a bumper contract after his goals last season. What a terrible bit of management that was. His man management skills are severely lacking as displayed by the amount of fallouts he has created. We need a strong manager to wrestle the player power away but he always seems to fight the wrong battles.

@@Fmfcg yeah, I understood what you said. Rashford got 1 goal & 5 assists in his 1st 14 games btw…I’m not working the exact minutes out, but Ronaldo played 1,051 minutes. If Rashford played a full 90 minutes in every game, which he obviously didn’t (90x14) that would be a maximum of 1,260 minutes. Ronaldo played a lot more than you think, because he played in all the Europa League fixtures Edit: I might have read it wrong, it might be 15 games for Rashford…which would be 1,350 minutes maximum! But still not 3 times more than Ronaldo’s minutes

Let me tell you something. You see, managing a team, it's not just about picking individuals with a certain skill set. It's about crafting a cohesive unit that can perform together like a symphony. Now, when you talk about Cristiano Ronaldo, you're talking about a maestro of the game. You don't teach him how to take a free-kick, no. But what you do is you create an environment where his brilliance can shine, where he can elevate the entire team. But what do we have here? Poor management decisions, that's what. Sending away players who understand the rhythm of the game, players with standards that match the elite, and replacing them with mediocrity? It's like trading in a fine wine for vinegar. And who do we bring in? Players who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a football. We're talking about bringing in players who couldn't deliver a decent cross if their lives depended on it. That's not how you build a winning team. That's how you build a laughing stock. Not going to talk about De Gea.

We should have won!"). There is definitely a discernible pattern with him in that regard, particularly this season.

A champion, one of the best players of all time whose high standards match the ambition of the fans that follow our club. What is Ten Hag's pedigree? Ajax? How has he displayed he can manage players with high ambition? Ten Hag is good for managing crybaby's and under performing teams. Ten Hag is a wordsmith who has the same excuses and delusion after in every interview after every match, lying and saying we dominated and played well when we didn't. Even if we have been unlucky with injuries, our squad should be one of the best in the league and we are playing like a Championship team most week with the occasional lucky result that the team have been riding for the last 18 months.

He scored almost 42 per cent of United’s 57 league goals, breaking 40 per cent for the second time after 2007-08, and his effect on their win percentage was as follows United won 14 of Ronaldo’s 27 starts, 51.9 per cent - and while that percentage is the lowest of Ronaldo’s United career, their win ratio dropped all the way to 18.2 per cent in the games he did not start. They averaged 1.70 points per game with him in the XI, compared to 1.09 without So get your facts right!!!!

That's a tad misleading. You're including games in all competitions, and group-stage + knockout football is different to league football. We also can't isolate to one season, because the amount of games he didn't start is too small a sample - I believe he didn't start six league games, and the win percentage was 50%. If you compare it to the season before his arrival and after his departure, then it is more interesting - so for example, they scored 121 goals before he arrived; 71 after. We also saw a similar trend at Juventus and with Portugal, after 2017. And I'm not biased - so I can say that the opportunity cost of signing Messi after 2020 was negligible, since everyone brings him up; I can also say that Man Utd isn't dysfunctional because of Ronaldo, and signing Ronaldo was clearly not going to work for either party and thinking it was a good idea to sign him was evidence of their dysfunctionality - but Ronaldo hasn't made teams better since he left Madrid.

TalkSport’s obsession with getting Ten Hag fired is so transparent and lacks so much needed context. For starters, United’s back line has been destroyed this year. Not only are Martínez, Varane, Lindelof, Evans, Shaw, and Malacia all out but United have the 2nd most back 4 combination pairings in the entire league because the injuries have been non-stop to that unit. On top of that, Mainoo, Casemiro, Mount, Wan Bissaka, Maguire, Martial, and Hojlund have all missed significant portions of the season. The reality is the United squad looks so disjointed, in large part, because there has been no continuity with their starting lineup week to week. The basic lack of analysis and context provided by TalkSport is getting really over the top.

It can’t possibly be a coincidence that we’ve had so many injuries and Ten Hag saw fit not to employ a fitness coach. That’s a scandalous decision by Ten Hag. Shocking neglect. Malacia - very average player. Hojlund - very average player. Martinez - sick note of Darren Anderton proportions. Martial has done nothing for years! So it’s not as if we’ve been missing world class players who have previously been amazing for us. Ten Hag signed players who aren’t good enough… Hojlund, Malacia, Antony, Mount, Onana, an ageing Casemiro… not to mention the dreadful loan signings. The inconsistency of team selection is a headache, and has obviously not helped but Irrespective of the injuries, a decent manager would be able to set the team up in a way which made us difficult to beat. Ten Hag is incapable of doing the job. He is astonishingly bad. No tactical nous, no in game management nous, very poor substitutions, mind-bending delusion!! Apparently the ‘team performance was brilliant’ last night! And we ‘dominated’ the game according to this imbecile! The man is out of his mind

As a result, United are constantly camped out on top of their own penalty box instead of moving farther up the field as a collective. 2. United has not had a natural left back for a significant portion of the season with Shaw and Malacia both out. Playing right footed players on the left side of defense disrupts the fluidity of defending, playing from the back, and supporting the attack by overlapping the left sided winger (typically Rashford). 3. United’s back line is made up of players like Maguire, Lindelof, Evans, and Wan Bissaka who are are a combination of not technical and quick enough to play out from under a sustained high press. 4. The full backs cannot join the press and support the attack because Maguire, Lindelof, and Evans are all too slow at center back and will get exposed for pace if left by themselves. 5. Wan Bissaka and Lindelof, when playing left back, cannot join the attack on the left side because they aren’t good enough with the ball at their feet and fast enough in the case of Lindelof. Even Dalot, when playing left back, does not have a good enough left foot to fluidly play up and down the left side. He constantly has to cut back onto his right foot, slows down the fluidity of the attack, and allows opponents to regroup and face forward instead of running back towards their own goal. 6. In the midfield, McTominay regularly goes 10 minutes at a time without touching the ball. He positions himself intentionally behind opposition players so he can’t receive the ball under any sort of pressure. Virtually all his passing is backwards or sideways when he is actually on the ball. He makes virtually no forward or threatening passes. He is slow in transition and is nowhere near the “hustle” and “effort” player he is made out to be. Aside from making late runs into the box and scoring the odd goal, United are playing a player down with him. 7. Mainoo is a possession player who wants to receive, pass, combine, and eventually make passes forward once the defense has been lured into pressing him. The problem for Mainoo is he is playing with McTominay, Bruno, and Casemiro in the midfield. None of those three are composed, possession players who can regularly combine and play in tight spaces. Mainoo would fit in perfectly with Brighton but he’s currently playing with the wrong profile of players to really get the best out of him. One real problem area for Mainoo is his lack of pace. He can make quick bursts while on the ball but his acceleration over 5 yards is poor. If you closely watch him, he is constantly getting lost in transition and cannot track back to save his life once beaten. 8. Casemiro’s legs are gone. It’s not even a debate at this point. They are just gone. When actually fit this season, he’s constantly diving into challenges and getting bypassed. Likewise, his lack of composure on the ball is obvious if you actually objectively watch him and forget his name. He regularly coughs up possession and does not allow United to get respite on the ball. He has a warrior mentality but his best days are behind him. 9. Eriksen is class when given time and space on the ball. But contrary to what people may think, he’s not an elite player in tight spaces combining with others. At this point, Eriksen cannot get around the field in back and forth games. He’s gassed after 30 minutes and does not offer any defensive upside. Like Casemiro, his legs are gone. He’d possibly be able to play a greater role in the team if United had a possession team but he can’t get around the pitch at all in transition and is a huge liability. 10. Bruno would thrive much more with possession players around him throughout the entire team. It would allow him to be like De Bruyne at City, who contrary to popular thinking coughs up the ball much more than any other City player because he looks to try passes and shots that no other player on the team will attempt in pursuit of generating goals. The problem for Bruno is he is not surrounded by players like that at United so him losing the ball trying high risk passes stands out even more. Bruno is not a possession player who excels in tight spaces. He also does not turn quickly on the swivel and is not quick twitched enough to make quick changes of movement like Thiago at Liverpool or Mainoo. Bruno works hard off the ball but he very often lacks team discipline and does his own thing pressing. Which is quite ineffective on its own. 11. Rashford has been glorified to be a player he is not. He has one move, cut inside onto his right foot and shoot wildly. That’s it. When not playing off the back shoulder of the opposing right back in transition, he offers next to nothing. His decision making is poor, slow, and selfish. He is not a possession player, cannot combine in tight spaces, and regularly loses the ball making simple passes and dribbling into blind alleys with his head down. Defensively, it’s genuinely embarrassing how little he contributes. He consistently puts his left back in match up nightmares by not tracking back and his pressing IQ is abysmal. He does not know how to take an approach angle and help dictate the press to his teammates behind and beside him. Genuine questions have to be asked why Rashford is allowed to continue starting manager after manager with such basic lack of effort. What is going on higher up in the club that allows him to get away with this season after season? He’s treated like royalty at the club and why? Because he’s a local lad from the academy? Who cares at this point. 12. Garnacho is talented at 19 but looks burnt out. He increasingly looks devoid of ideas and is losing the ball more and more by just running straight at the defender and not making an actual move. He’s young enough that Ten Hag, or the next manager, can actually shape him into a much more well rounded winger (unlike Rashford who is who he is at 26). I’d like to see Garnacho look to pass, move, and combine more. Because he’s not as slow as Sancho but not as fast as Rashford. He’s quick but not quite quick enough to burn pass opposing defenders. He needs to learn to pass, combine, and move more instead of constantly look to shoot and go in by himself. But he also needs possession players around him to combine with. Defensively, Garnacho does track back (not quite like Antony) but his pressing is still erratic and needs to be refined. 13. Hojlund is a talent but he is so starved of any type of consistent service. Like so many previous United forwards before him. If you actually look at the goals he’s scored this year, most of them are not from any type of coordinated play with his teammates. They are scrappy and fortuitous goals that his teammates had no role in helping create. Hojlund’s work rate, commitment, desire, and pressing cannot be questioned. But he’s on an island by himself. And with Martial being perpetually injured and no other number 9 available, it was inevitable that his body gave out and he was out injured for a while. Hojlund is going to end up being wasted at United if the club are not serious about actively getting him the ball and providing him with opportunities. Because there is a real player there with desire but he’s constantly being underutilized game after game. My concern is he will become disillusioned, lose that spark, and become yet another United casualty who came in with great ingredients but got destroyed by the cancerous culture of the club.

Ronaldo was absolute garbage when he returned to man utd. One of the worst signings in their history that was. Youve also got to do the basics before any tricks. He didnt press and help out his full back. He didnt do that in his whole career and that was a massive weakness. You cant be a top player without doing the basics. Like haaland standing in the middle tapping them in and doing nothing else. Ian rush did all that and track back and defend. Ronaldo was another overrated player
