In so many short horror films, there will be some disturbing event, creature, noise, monster, or whatever and the main actor barely even flinches or seems alarmed. This lady did a good job without even saying a word!

This short film focuses on terror more than horror. The feeling that you know theres a threat, but no direct sign of danger. No jumpscares, scary noises. Just pure terror and eeriness, knowing that its there but looking and seeing that its gone. Love it

The way she walked onto the train and looked around, staring at people for a while, at the same time showing a sort of anxiety... it makes me think that she's the type of person who has social anxiety. The idea of being seen is scarier for her than the idea of seeing others. She watches them, but she can't stand being watched. And that particular anxiety shines through when someone spots her and starts paying too much attention to her... getting close and closer... until she feels as though she's living in her own horror film. It gave me more of an insight on mental trauma than anything supernatural or based on senseless horror. Very interesting!!

I also saw it as she's a person who's anxious before getting on the train, but seeing people and being around them gave her a sense of comfort and safety. Then, all of the sudden, that was gone

This short shows exactly how a negative thought could interfere with someone’s life. The man could represent the “negative thought”.You can see how once she notices the “negative thought” everything else just goes out the window. The more she focuses on it, the more it overtakes her mind until eventually there is no more positive and nothing but a negative fate is sneaking up on her.

3:20 is extremely unsettling for me; the guys face looks ALMOST normal. There’s a head, glasses, a nose, but you get the impression that he is grinning, grinning in some horrible, sadistic way. Such an amazing short film Edit: Actually zooming into his face? He is grinning, and you can see his eyes, it’s fucking terrifying dear lord it made this so much worse when I rewatched it.

No jumpscares, just very well done creepy atmosphere that builds up tension in a slow and very unsettling pace. Kudos to Tameka Mortimer who manages to make me be very worried about her from the moment on she's alone with that guy. Wonderful and very believable character (how do they say? The best acting is when the audience does not even think you're acting). Thumbs up and gonna go stalk your channel now :)

I really like how unsettling this makes me feel, there’s a lot to actually note. 1. The first time we as the audience see him, is not the actual first time the main character sees him, not too important but just an observation. The first time he’s also shown, he’s not the direct focus of the shot, we as the audience are just now reacting to the sudden disappearance of everyone around, that the sudden appearance of the man even tho he is not the main focus of the shot with how it glosses over him, we are now heavily and intensely focused on him. 2. All times he is seen he is directly facing and staring in our direction, showing that it’s not just us as the audience who is focusing in on someone in this train. 3. The first time he jolts and hunches over I first took it as a sign of him mocking her for staring, but now looking back at it, I actually see it as more of a playful but creepy attempt at engaging with her staring. It quickly becomes this cat and mouse game of knowing both people are just as focused on one another. Normally it would end here but for whatever sadistic reason the man takes it further by getting closer. 4. The body language is not only creepy for the sudden jolting and getting closer, but he is always faced towards us, and I don’t just mean his head, I mean his entire body. He’s also hunched up, in this oddly proper way. 5. I know it sounds silly, but him wearing those shades actually makes it creepier, with parts of his face being covered, in creates this un canny feeling. I think that’s where this film really strives, in this un canny way. The body language and the way he moves is this cartoonish playful borderline animalistic way of engaging with another person. Wether if this was done intentionally, or just by pure chance of the actor playing the character this certain way. It makes it so uncomfortable and creepy. It’s truly a good film

Hey - interesting points but I just wanted to ask a couple of questions cos I'm a little confused :)) "1. The first time we as the audience see him, is not the actual first time the main character sees him, not too important but just an observation." - how do you know that? From my understanding, the woman boards the train and then looks around - fair, we can't see what she's observing at this point, but how do we know she saw him then?? The woman comes across as anxious - I don't think she would have sat just a few rows down from this guy, by a locked door at the end of the same carriage, if she had seen him. I know there were people already on the train, and she might have sat by them for safety, but there is always that risk that they would get off before her and the creepy guy, so she'd be left on the carriage with him. Nah - I think she would have moved to another carriage if she'd seen him. "5. I know it sounds silly, but him wearing those shades actually makes it creepier, with parts of his face being covered, in creates this un canny feeling. I think that’s where this film really strives, in this un canny way." - Is he wearing shades? I can see his eyes, especially when he's peering between the seats, which is scary AF

@@hazza1054. From my understanding the character doesn’t see the man until the second time he’s on screen. Since she glances over him the first time. A point I also forgot to mention was, when he appears everyone else disappears, singling him out, which creates this intense focus on them. I think it’s interesting how the main character went from being somewhat nervous with so many people on the train to very quickly wanting those people back. Being in a public spade with only 1 person you don’t know can be already unsettling, but if the person is staring I’d imagine it’d be 100% scarier. And for the shades I swear I saw him wearing shades, I don’t know it might be a trick of the lighting but I can’t see his eyes.

No jump scares (thank god), no loud music, no over the top acting, bright light... and still (or mostly because of said things) one of the creepiest movies (be it short or full length) I have seen in the last months! Fantastic work all of you! Love the subtle and lifelike acting of all the characters, Tameka nails it. For someone that does not say one word, she succeeds that the viewer (me at least) worries about her more and more throughout the film. And god damn, this "man on the train" is creepy as it gets! The train car was actually empty but this thing in the form of a man lured her into a false security, believing she was not alone and thus she would get comfortable and stay on the train. Right before her eyes the people were gone, because they never were there. There are so many possibilities that could have happened to her, wow. I am going to watch this way more than once. the man suddenly crouching down while looking at her (as if he had just realized there was something behind the seats staring at him) reminded me of that typical cat-like behavior when a cat spots some animal and immediately switches to "predatory behavior". it's the exact same movement and position. also, the way he silently gets closer to her trying not to be heard... same as how cats (or felines, in general) try to get closer to their prey without letting it run away or escape. if this was intentional, praise to you, it is a perfect way to give anybody the chills: I think we, as humans, still react to certain types of clues in a very instinctive way, such as fear, and animal predatory behavior is probably one of them. great job.
