My sister made a story about superman and supergirl. Really great story The title is the “S” logo. That way, the viewers will not know if the main character is superman or supergirl. But she is a big fan of superman xD. Really great story. I love it ! The problem with her is she is very lazy to make the script so she can try to submit it to warner bros. She said why bother make a script when they are not going to accept. I tried to make script for her but she crumple it and said the grammar is bad . And the way how i wrote the story is bad. Just sad I actually want the script so i can keep it myself and hopefully if warner bros said no. There is that story she made i can keep and i can tell my kids and grandkids about the story -is like a memento. It is really a great story. Not bcus she is my sister but her imagination is beyond . One of fave story she made is “choice” about one sided love. , “S” ( DC story superman/ supergirl), zombie story- no title yet about two siblings were separated at a young age bcus of an zombies epidemic. Gawd ! No script for all of them.

That's cause all the actors were top notch quality and the story,writting,and everything made sense and wasn't boring or draggy. Also he looks the part where he doesn't look like just some basic guy in a Superman outfit. Christopher Reeve and Henry were the best Superman. I don't know who they could get to play the next superman but he better be able to act great and actually look the part too.

However it’s impossible to watch this film and say “that is superman done right” and that’s the problem. No one denies the greatness of the film, but since it’s a superman film, the most iconic fictional character, it has to be done correct and it really wasn’t, not at all.

50 bucks says it's the score that's giving you the goosebumps. Because that slow burn swell into that crescendo is timed flawlessly with Russell's speech. I get them too. Sad thing is, this trailer set the bar too high for the movie. It didn't suck, but if we had gotten the movie that the trailer set up, it could have been on par with Nolan's Bats. Snyder just doesn't have the directorial ability for that, though

The Suicide Squad 2021 bombed big time and I agree the first Suicide Squad was better and slso was s box office success.

This movie is awesome. The only reason most critics from Rotten Tomatoes hated it is because they're familiar with Donner's Superman. This Superman is "modern" and influenced from the New 52. If the critics had some knowledge in the comics, they wouldn't give it awful review.

For me, this IS the definitive Superman theme/motif as I never grew up with the Reeve movies. Even after listening to John Williams theme, I still consider Zimmer's theme to be superior. Its not as bombastic as Williams' but it has an incredible bass and drum beat and conveys a feeling of inspiration, resillience, pride and optimism.

But Reeves fans miss the "geeky" Clark Kent. It wasn't just that Clark had glasses, but he changed his entire personality. Today's Superman is too serious as Clark Kent. Same with the new Batman. The alter ego is too serious. The alter ego to a dark, brooding hero should be lighthearted.

S K Script is amazing too

There score alone is just perfect. That line “they will stumble, they will fall, but in time, they will join you the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.” That give humanity so much faith and hope. Superman will always be the boy scout to me, but he is necessary in the DC universe.

This has to be one of the best trailers ever for a film, right?

The only issue with this movie it is the timing the film is way ahead of it's time if it was released in 2017 it would've grossed a billion

Yeah man. But i think the reaction would still be similar. Fans of the reeves-esque Superman still wouldn't like this portrayal. I'm glad it came out at the time it did because I think time needs to pass for people to look back and re-evaluate it after all the other comic book movies have come out. Compare it to Logan, how much different in tone is it? They're in a similar tone besides the R gore and violence and subject of suicide, just that Superman is not known for this tone.

@Messages In a bottle following that breakdown, batman begins would be made up of 3 movies: his experience in the criminal realm, him becoming batman, ras al ghul attempting to destroy gotham. But these are 3 acts. In MOS, I think these are 3 Acts with the kryptonian scene being part of the becoming of Superman. These are 3 acts. But I get what you mean. They seem unrelated. But I think they link well enough.

I am an 80s kid, I grew up in a small town in Jalisco, Mexivo, loving the Superman with Christopher Reeve, when I went into that theatre when I was 7, my jaw dropped watching him fly. Right after that you could not take the towel off around my neck as a cape. Even after all that nostalgia, this movie, Man of Steel gives me goose bumps every time I see it. I have seen ot more times than I ever did with past ones. So I do not understand why a lot of people do not like it. It is incredibly made.

lol people hating this movie because Superman killed Zod. What? Would you rather let Zod live and let him kill an innocent family? You people are sick.

j Hughes And why is that? You think Superman shouldn't be forced to make the hard choice; especially when he's as inexperienced as he is in this (incredibly awesome) movie? Everyone knows about his morality code. His killing Zod is the springboard for that. Besides, he killed Zod (and his lieutenants) in the comics, too, and just like in the movie, he was NOT happy about it. Huh! All these excuses about how the movie was badly written. Please! Not that anyone really listens to critics, but little to no critics had issue with the movie's story. But rather it's pacing and lack of character development; the latter of which I disagree with given the fact that the movie is destined to have sequels. It's not smart to put all your eggs in one basket.

Where are you guys all getting this "Superman must kill in order to develop a code which bars him from killing" thing from? I never needed to kill anyone to know I shouldn't kill anyone. If you've read any Superman comics you know that his ethical code comes from his parents. Of course, the parents in this film are pretty much worthless, and tell him to let people die, so yeah, it's not surprising that he spends the whole movie punching the shit out of people instead of saving them. Yes, Superman killed Zod in the comics, but that was after years and years of following a very strict code. The whole point of that storyline is that Superman subverted his principles far from home, and that this was a major, major mistake and that it would follow him and cause his Justice League teammates to respect him less and treat him differently. There are no repercussions for killing Zod in this film. It was simply the solution to a problem. I don't care about critics. I'm a fan of the character. This was not a Superman film. This was a film about a guy with Superman's powers being the shit out of people. Superman should inspire hope. He should be a pristine example of what people should do if they want to be good people. That's the point of the character. I assume that you're not a fan of the character, and that's why this subversion of the character doesn't matter to you.

How can Superman stress the importance of never taking the life if he's never been down that road himself? And his parents aren't worthless. They weren't telling him to let people die. They simply didn't have an answer for him. Let's face it. In the 70s, we may have been open to the idea of a powerful alien protector. But in this century, we'd all be mistrustful and freaking out. Not everyone would be as accepting and understanding as the Kents. The movie was proof of that. Clark was treated so badly growing up because people suspected he was different. His mother on Krypton Lara, she said this herself. That he'd be an outcast. A freak. They'd find him, torture him, experiment on him, and if not, he'll be on the run for the rest of his life. I'll give you the comics one, but it doesn't change my point about the fact that he has STILL killed before. But I guess a better comparison would be his killing of Doomsday because he had no alternative. As for the repercussions, that's why we have sequels. Can't cram everything in a movie that's already more than two hours long. And you're right. This ISN'T an honest to goodness Superman film. Hence why it's called "Man of Steel". This was a sci-fi-first-contact-threading-the-needle origin movie. It's not about Superman. It's about the man who will become Superman. It's his first time out as a hero. He's been put in a position to save lives, yes. But not the whole world. He has to learn and evolve into the being you are so fond of. The inspirations of hope and the pristine example of all things good. Otherwise, it won't leave a lot of room for continuing his story. And it's not a subversion of him. It's a reinvention. EVERY OTHER Superman property in existence has him as a boy scout figure of hope. All the best, classic Superman stories portray him that way - Kingdom Come, All Star Superman, Byrne's Man of Steel, Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow, For All Seasons. Superman doesn't need to change to stay relevant. Being a decent human being isn't ever going to go out of style.

Snyder wanted to do it (his original plan was to make a trilogy of them), but the studio roped him into doing Batman v. Superman instead, they were desperate to ape the MCU. Such a shame.

I am and I'M loving every minute of it. This is my most favorite Superman movie "Man Of Steel" with Henry Cavill. The BvS was hard to watch because it was pissing me off for a good bit of the movie, especially when Batman started beating up Superman after he cheated & shot Kryptonite pellets at him to dispel the gases at Superman to weaken him. I watched BvS just once and could not handle watching Superman get killed and the camera came up close to his face to show that he was dead. I bawled my eyes out. But I loved MOS and have watched about 8 times now. I just don't get tried of watching it. I loved the music also. Henry was so majestic in this movie MOS & the music was also the same, majestic. I saw the JL and was pissed off again that Henry didn't have much screen time in this movie. Even the cast member said that Henry was DEAD for most of the movie. I hope we will see move of Henry Cavill when Zack Snyder get done with the cuts of that movie & its shown on HBO. ......

The trailer is better than the movie. Superman has an issue many super heroes have: to much power, basically invincible yet inconsistently. It produces crapy enemies and stories. And this movie suffers especially from a seemingly 30 minutes scene in which CGI characters throw each other through CGI skyscrapers because what else can you do with invincible characters. This trailer though is an amazing piece of art.

Henry Cavill gave the people of earth an ideal to strive towards. He helped many accomplish wonders

dark knight rises was garbage to me, dark knight was really good, but batman was gone for over half the movie in rises and when he finally confronts bane they just punch and don't get in a really good fight, bane just gets shot but cat woman and thats the end of it, terrible terrible movie

Wesley Otero Yeah, DKR is the most overrated movie of all time IMO. Was a complete mess, had lack of story telling, but since they slapped Nolan's name and Bale's name all over it, the sheep of the world praised it. But Snyder makes a movie and people critique every aspect of it. SMH.

I wish that I could go back in time and watch this epic in theatre. Looks like this movie was released 10 Years early of it's deserve date. Miss you Cavill

Can't believe it's been 10 years since this trailer was released. I still remember exactly how much goosebumps I got when I watched this the first time. And I still get hyped up watching it even now. Man of Steel had flaws. But it's still one of the best superhero films I've ever watched. What they did was bold. It's sad that this film never got the proper follow up it deserved. ZSJL was the only film that gave it some proper justice.

As a father myself, that line where Costner’s character tells young Clark that he owes to himself to find out who he really is, hits that emotional chord for me. Maybe some kids need to hear this from time to time to become the best version of themselves, no one is perfect ladies and gentlemen but we can always be better people✌️

Dear Zack Snyder, I don’t know how to contact you or reach you, so I’m leaving this here in the hopes that you will find it. I’m sorry for your loss. I’m sorry this happened to your family. No amount of success can replace a loved one. I’m hurting with you and your family, as well as with all who believed in your films. You are a father first before a filmmaker, and this tragedy is touching you in a way few can understand. Please take the time to heal with your family. I love Man of Steel. The first time I saw it I watched it with my whole family, and unbeknownst to them, I shed a tear or two. You made Superman so relatable for me because you made me see Clark Kent’s humanity. Looking at the big screen I saw my life in front of me. The scene in the classroom where Clark’s powers kicks in immersing him to a panic attack was so vivid to my experience. Like Clark, I came from another “world” you can say. I’m not American. I had an entire life that was different from my life here in the US. As an immigrant the culture shock of going to school not speaking the language, not having any friends, not understanding the culture, not knowing how to seek help made me feel helpless growing up. And when Clark ran out of the classroom to hide in the custodians room, that was me. We didn’t have any place to go. We were stuck in another world where people ridiculed us for being different. “Clark, I’m here. Sweetie, how can I help you if you won’t let me in?” “The world’s too big, Mom.” “Then make it small. Just.. um, focus on the sound of my voice. Pretend it’s an island out in the ocean. Can you see it?” “I see it.” “Then swim towards it, honey.” It was like God spoke to me. In that one moment you made me realize in all my loneliness and fear that I’m never alone, that there’s always this Voice beckoning me to come home. There was another scene where Clark, as a teenager, was reading a book inside his dad’s truck, and a school bully slams against the truck and yanks him outside throwing him down against the fence. Yelling. Threatening. Challenging Clark. Jonathan Kent does what good fathers do and dismisses the fight without a word. A man of character doesn’t need to speak much. But after the students left, and a kid he saved once lifts him back up to his feet, the father speaks to his son. “Did they hurt you?” “You know they can’t.” “That’s not what I meant. I meant, ‘Are you alright?’” “I wanted to hit that kid. I wanted to hit him so bad.” “I know you did. I mean, a part of me even wanted you to, but then what? Make you feel any better? You just have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be, Clark, because whoever that man is, good character or bad, he’s... he’s gonna change the world.” I don’t have to be the bad guy. I don’t have to be the monster that hurt me. I don’t have to be the villain in my story. You helped me see that, Zack. I saw it, and it was beautiful. The truth about me is a decision I make for myself. And I’ve decided to be the hero in my story. To be a force for good. To make my presence a gift of peace. To be the person I wish I had growing up. There are many more moments I loved from your film Man of Steel, but I’ll end this note with this quote. “He always believed you were meant for greater things, and when the day came, your shoulders would be able to bear the weight.” Zack, you made me believe in the good in me. And for that I owe you my gratitude. I believe in Zack Snyder. I believe in Superman. And I believe in being a force for good today so we could have hope for tomorrow. Except the Snyder cut. None. And I loved Snyder's JL. But, one thing, please don't make him direct every film. Once in a while, a dark film is good, but making every film like that would be pretty bad in my opinion. Anyways, I am still hoping Shazam and Aquaman still stay canon.

The only bad film we had was Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey. Of course the future films will be dark since Darkseid is now introduced. Like what do you expect, seriously? Happy heroes save the day from bad villain grrrr? If you want that, go to Marvel kid. DC is for adults, these movies aren’t just superhero movies, in case you haven’t figured it out yet.

Ironically, despite criticism, this is probably one of the most hopeful trailers ever crafted.

Underrated masterpiece.

@Mr Grumpy maybe if you didn't needlessly alter the core of the character? I mean, he's supossed to be the Light of this world, but now I guess he's just as doubtful and insecure as BATMAN.....

@Mr Grumpy ok 1st, nice of you to call me an idiot over an inofenssive comment, real mature of you there 👌, 2nd, yeah, Superman is still at the beginning of his superhero life, but he should atleast RESSEMBLE the core character of superman by the end of the movie, but he doesn't, in fact he doesm't really change much in anyway, and that's because he never goes through development on his own, it's always people telling him what to do, Cold Pa Kent tells him to not be a superhero because people are gonna fear him (more on that later) and Windows 10 Jor El tells him to be a suerhero because he'll lead humanity in a better path, which never happens but whatever, my point is that the development never comes from Clark, which makes him feel like he has no actual stake in the plot, like he's just a passive plot device, and also, let's talk about Pa Kent and the Ideology of the Movie: So this movie's idea is that even in a grey, morally confused world, that someone like Superman can help bring it to the right path with his great powers but even greater Altruistic and Hopeful attitude that brings out the best in people, and traditionally Pa Kent embodies this idea, he helps his son become the man he is by instilling those morals into him, but instead, this movie and it's Pa Kent COMPLETELY miss the mark, because while the movie TRIES to be about hope and choice, it kinda screws up when it comes to the events of the movie reflecting that message, because while it says its about hope, it actually ends with humanity and Superman still not trusting each other, which makes the "message" really underdeveloped and half baked, also, this Pa Kent sucks for the same reason I just explained about the movie having contradicting Ideas. I could still go on about how the movie structures events poorly and thus has a weird pace with some SERIOUSLY confusing creative choices but im done, this is why I think Man of Steel is a Bad Superman movie and a Mediocre Movie

@@diegodelafuente5056 explain the on.y bad thing for this movie except his dads death I can for endgame to much plot holes unnecessary jokes thst ruin film unrealistic action forced women empowerment scene if u day man of steel had to much destruction remember sod would break,stuff while fighting so even if he sent him to a dessert he would just send him back that what happen when he took him to space and remember this is an unexperiences superman

@@diegodelafuente5056 that's what makes him more relatable. In DCEU even new gods like superman have to earn their worth by undergoing self assessment. I would take this superman over that cheesy boy scout reeeves anyday.

what a sad day for all Cavill and Snyder fans. This trailer and movie will never be topped.

Best Superman movie that will ever be !!!!!!!

The one thing that always stands out in this trailer is when Jor-El says "They will join you in the sun", it's missing Kal at the end. In the final cut, just adding his son's name makes is so much more epic for some reason. Nearly 10 years later, I still come back to watch this occasionally. I'm going to miss Cavill.

@@azanmalik7169 I have seen the HISHE video on Man of Steel, and it actually is kind of true. But I think it was more about him seeking the right thing to do morally and thus he sought out a priest. He was also caught between the ideals of his two fathers. Jor-El thought that he will help the world and they will praise him, but Johnathan said that they will reject him. There are some religious parallels in the scene too.

@@azanmalik7169 It was a parallel to jesus praying/asking for God's ( the father's ) advice at the garden of Gethsemane before his crusifixion. If you look closely you can see it on clarks background.
