The most badass moment in film of the last decade is when Colonel turns to Feora in the cockpit and repeats her words back to her, "A good death is it's own reward" and pitches the plane down into the Kryptonian ship. Gives me chills everytime.

I don't give a damn what critics says about this movie. It's my all time favourite superhero movie

Thank you for reminding us how CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED this film is. Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder make an EXCELLENT team!! Warner/DC should have kept these two on the entire job for DC films.

This score is perfection. Hanz Zimmer really just out did himself

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It really shows just how powerful, fast, invulnerable, & strong he is. In the absence of kryptonite or magic he’s almost unstoppable.

just Zack Snyder has great vision

Fun fact- the krypton sequence was suppose to have Jor, Lara, Zod & others speak Kryptonian language developed by Dr Christine Shreyer for the movie. The idea was scrapped but used the kryptonian writings in some places of scenes like their Liquid Geo display systems if you look closely especially the part when Zod explained to Kal how his ship located Earth. Christine developed both writings & numerical system which is still available in google. Another fact is the object found in Antarctica was a kryptonian scout ship that belonged to Kara zor El aka Supergirl. It was a prequel story in a comic panel developed along the movie. She never appeared in Snyderverse though.

Despite the reception, it made $667 million dollars at the box office.

A lot of people forget Hollywood reporter and Variety's changing narrative in Hollywood. It's because of Disney influence and political influence. There's lot of politics there.

Disney's since the became a monopoly paid for review and critics. Should already be obvious. Movie is 10 years old but STILL holds up better than anything marvel has ever put out.

This movie is a masterpiece.

Every adopted kid or step-child goes through the same phase. Some instance or scenario where everyone is under stress, and someone...either intentionally or unintentionally...says the wrong thing at the wrong time, and their teenage hormones blow up. And out it comes... "You're not even my real dad anyway!" (and/or mom, as the case may be) And it's the sort of thing that doesn't discriminate who said it, or who it was said to. It hurts everyone equally. Some might succeed in hiding it, but everyone always feels it. Eventually, it can be healed, but it'll always be a scar. It pretty obviously hurts the person it's directed at. But it hurts the child saying it, too. They already have those misplaced feelings that they're unwanted. And they're always there somewhere, in the back of their mind. It really doesn't take much to bring them out, and the wrong word at the wrong moment can cause them to burst into flames. No matter how well-loved, those feelings always lurk somewhere. "Why didn't my real parents want me?" "Why wasn't I important enough for them to do something so I didn't get taken away from them?" "Am I even worth loving at all?" It's almost never conscious until that one catastrophic moment. But those questions are NEVER, not there in their minds in some way or another.

The best superhero film ever !

I used to crack up as a kid on the Superman TV show. The crooks would empty a revolver into Superman's chest, when he wasn't hurt from the shot, they would get frustrated and throw the gun at him.

You should check out the 1978 version - Superman: The Movie. It was pretty much the very first real "superhero" movie, and it introduced the character of Superman in a more wholesome and even romantic way. The actor who played the lead later suffered an accident while horseback riding that left him paralyzed from the neck down, but he went on for a few more years as a truly inspirational human before he passed. It's what makes Superman a part of American culture.

the traditionalists DC 'fsns' really gave this movie a hard time, mostly due to hatred of the director. I own the 4k blu-ray of this treasure. So glad we got a excellent modern Superman film. Would take a 200% effort to top this gem.

Emma this is one of my favorite versions of Superman. Also another favorite version of Superman is Smallville. It was a tv series that went 10 years Tom Welling played Clark Kent it’s about him from age 14 until he is 24 becoming Superman you should check that show out sometime.

Critics have complained since this movie was released is that it's a dark violent and depressing Superhero movie as well as blaming Zack Snyder for ruining Superman.

Their issue was the realism of Superman fighting another Kryptonian on Earth and creating that collateral damage. During that battle you can figure 100,000 people might have been killed and the movie didn't make note of that impact on humanity. They addressed it in "Batman v Superman", and you know how it affected Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor and others.

That is the best of superman movie.

My fave superhero movie ever!

Everybody gets confused about Jonathan's death in the tornado scene. It's really very simple: he's afraid of Clark's anger. He's afraid that humans will do something out of their fear of an alien with godlike powers that causes Clark to lose control for just one moment. That's why the film emphasizes Clark's struggles with bullies and anger in general. It's the most dangerous way that Clark is vulnerable.

Amazing movie

I think i literally have watched this movie for 3-4 month total in my life span. Now imagine how big of a fan i am. I miss Henry 😢😢 i miss Affleck. Make sure you do the whole trilogy. And in the end you see the Flash 2023 movie. The end of an era 😢 When i die ill always have the regret that we never got Man of Steel 2 Batfleck standalone movie and ZSJL ,2 and 3. DC really messed everything up. 😢😢😢

Superman is my favorite superhero of all time but this movie is not a Superman movie. This is an abomination of Superman movie. Zack Snyder Superman is not Superman. Henry Cavil is a nice guy but he got screwed by Zack Snyder/Nolan who does not know what Superman is all about. If you want to see a real Superman movie you should watch Christoper Reeve Superman movies at least 1 and 2.
