My now wife figured out I was planning on proposing based off of a date I had set up, we get to the restaurant to start the night and she turns to me in the car and says: "If I find out you waisted half your damn salary on a stupid rock for my finger I'm going to say no." Luckily I was going to let her pick it out afterwards so hadn't spent any money yet. I am happily married, have a job i enjoy, and a baby daughter with a new son on the way. God has blessed me beyond what i deserve and it drives her crazy. All she wants is for me to be miserable.
