This show helped me realize that my "weird" obsessions and compulsions were a common disorder that many people have to deal with. I didn't have a name for until this show accurately portrayed OCD.

MAAAAN I loved watching Monk growing up especially when he would get really serious or had moments of clarity and control over his disorder. Such a good episode too.

Love how Monk leans in closer to encourage him.

There was an episode where they were analyzing a dead woman’s body and the chest was right in front of the camera… obviously breathing.

The way monk just leaned in to try and let him strangle him was priceless

Monk and House MD was my go to binge watch whenever we had nothing else to do. Thanks mama on making me watch these "boring" shows but now I'm in love with these. Gives me nostalgic

I loved this show growing up with all my heart. Monk on average was funny and clever, but a little observed fact came through here in SPADES. Monk was EPIC on delivering polite and clean smug victory when he actually wanted to be. And good lord did his rage on this “VERY FAT” man come through in this episode to nail it!

I grew up with this show never got old but the funny thing was I never saw this episode till later but still this show is part of my child hood never gets old to watch.

"What's he doing?" "I think he's trying to kill me" [["...Wasn't really much of a fight, was it?"]] That line killed me XD

Dale is such a formidable enemy of monk he is relentless, Tim curry did a good job a portraying him and was obviously the best.

Hard to convict him now after they disclosed everything in front of him though, not very good since the killer could just blame him to get some years off...the good way was arrest, interrogation and the reveal in court...I think, I'm not a lawyer or an detective though.

I dont get it, was the man obese or not because at the end he really can't move for sure as he tries to go for Monk after everything was revealed. Confusing episode.

Monk shows had some very awesome interesting murders on how they did it, like clever but there has to be a lesson learned in shows, you will get caught eventually

Well considering it was likely argued for the warrant, then pre trial discovery, and not allowed to withhold evidence. It is tidier this way than a court argument.

If you kill a stranger randomly by just walking up and shooting them, you'll get away with it. Accounting for DNA/videotape of course. On the flip side, most people are caught because they know the victim, in which case the fat suit wouldn't totally shield you. Especially if someone on the case is a Monk fan ;)

I love these Perry Mason type of shows. Good mindless fun. The moment one starts to think of the poor DA who has to deal with this mess, it gets less fun. Purely speculative evidence, warrantless search and evidence tampering, only witness will help defense unless you want to add on witness tampering. I would quit before bringing this case before a judge. Remember that opportunity and motive do not a case make. Everyone who has been cut off in traffic have both opportunity and motive. Doesn’t mean you are the one to shoot the a-hole.
