    Hi! Great video. The photos seem very sharp and I’m surprised. In other KZread videos it seems to get lots of air between the subject and the camera, and seems less sharp. Now I’m very very curious to see a canon 1200mm with and without a 2x teleconverter. The videos reviewing this combo don’t seem to show a lot of the potential brought by such a long reach. They show more the limitations rather than the good results. So if you can, do that review for us. Keep the videos coming

    Thank you!! This is my 600 F4 that I usually have the 1.4 extender on and I love that set up. I have the 2X for a little longer unless I decide to keep it 1200mm is a little limiting. I prefer 800mm as my personal sweet spot and that is where the 1.4 puts me. I think overall, the shots with the 1.4 are more consistent as far as sharpness goes. The good thing about not have 30 sharp shots in a row is there is less to cull through. LOL. Less stuff on the hard drive. I try to fill my frame, but I dont mind cropping either - that is why I personally like a larger sensor like on the R5. Thank you for letting me share with you!! 🙏🤗💖

    It is only a 600 F4 with a 2X that I am playing with. I don't mind the weight (for short distances), but I don't think the sharpness is what I am looking for. Fun to play with though!! It is like carrying a used car on your shoulders - both weight and price. 🙏🤗💖

    Great demo of the quality, reach and handling of this EF 600mm John. Nice photos besides😊 I just sold my very heavy 10lb 500mm f4 mark I. After more than a decade of enjoying it, my aching joints have had enough. Not on the tripod, but mainly travelling country roads in the winter and grabbing it quickly from the passenger seat to hoist it out the car window for a shot. So it is so nice to see how you can easily grab it off the tripod for hand holding. I’ll have fun with the RF 200-800 for now as a replacement.

    The Rf 200-800 is SOOOO much lighter and easy to swing around. I had the same 500 F4 lens and this 600 F4 is actually light - not by much more than a couple of hairs, but still feels lighter. I prefer to hand hold for the faster response, but it does get heavy as you know. The 200-800 - easy carry all day long!! 🙏🤗💖

    Afternoon Sir, Was thinking of getting the R7, I have a EOS 500mm f/4 IS USM L and 1.4 and 2 x teleconverter 3's but not sure, currently shoot with the 7d mk2. Lens and teleconverters look to work on the R7 with the rf/eos adapter. what do you think?

    I think you will LOVE the 500 F4 adapted to the R7. You will enjoy it with the 1.4 extender as well. I have to say that I never tried my 500 with a 2X so I cant speak to that. The R7 autofocus is amazing with the eye focus - I think it will be a night and day difference for you!!! 🙏💖🤗

    Hello! How does the lens perform when using a 1.4x or 2x extender? What is the picture quality? Mark III is not supposed to be as good with extenders as mark II or RF? Friendly greetings! Robert

  • @JonnyPink65

    @JonnyPink65

    2 ай бұрын

    For me, I use the 1.4 extender III all the time - it pretty much lives on the 600 F4 III - it is spot on and I notice no difference in AF or clarity with or without it. When using the 2X, again, I notice no difference in clarity but there is a little struggle or slowdown with the AF on occasion. I have not used a Nikon Z9 since before the last firmware update, but the 600 with the 2X (1200mm) was focusing about like a Nikon did - that is my only frame of refence. The one thing I will say about Canon is that their stuff just works flawlessly. I have been working on comparisons between the EF 600 F4 III with the 1.4 (840 mm at F5.6) compared to the 200-800 at F9 as a comparison to clarity. Going back and forth between the two, I don't notice a difference in AF speed or accuracy. And... the 600 as that set up with the few photos I have started developing when cropping in are still sharper at 840mm. I have only used the 2X a couple of times but the reality is that I think it is a bit overkill. As you start going that long, you do get atmosphere in there - not so bad on cold days but on hot days it will effect the clarity. After that long rambling, and only as my opinion as to what works for ME, around the 800mm seems to be the perfect focal length - again, just for me. However.... I will be slapping that 2X on there again soon. Now, when the RF 600 F4 II come out at some point, I will be getting that. 🙏🤗💖

    I agree 100% I bought this on a whim and have a little more more time to decide to keep it or return it. I prefer my 1.4. Less reach is OK and the photos are sharper over all. I am trying to look at the bright side and think that since I keep less. less to go through!! I keep shooting it as one time out would not be enough to really tell. But yes, I do agree. 🙏💖🤗

    I have never had one until now. I like a 1.4 and have both the EF and RF versions. I bought this on a whim and have mixed feelings about it. I get some sharp shots and I am looking at is as less to go though LOL. Some that I am missing however are disappointing to miss. Ah well, it just means that I keep going out.
