I have a 3 year old gray/ black female. She was larger than the other kittens at birth. Her dad was a maine coon and her mom is an osti cat, which I also raised from kittens. She looks like her daddy. The only look she got from her mom was the eye liner look around her eyes. She currently weights 22 pounds, 19 3/4 inches long and her tail is 15 1/2 inches long its self and she's about 15 inches when she's standing on her 4 legs. She's my baby and would be lost with out her. Tried bringing another cat in for her to play with but she wasn't having that, but she allowed a dog, which she loves playing with him.

Recently adopted a 1 YO female from the shelter, who's definitely got some maine coon in her. Can't tell if fully blooded or not of course, but, to-may-toe to-mah-toe. Real sweet girl - loves getting brushed and having conversations with me/shadowing me while I'm in the kitchen. So happy to see me wake up in the morning when I wake up and charges to my door. Although I keep my door open and let her know she's fine to sleep in my bedroom, she hasn't gotten comfortable enough yet other than taking a nap with me once or twice on the bed. Either way, our relationship is coming along very smoothly, considering that she was an extremely shy and skittish cat when I initially found her at the shelter, and knew it would take a long time to break down the barriers she'd made to help protect herself from some sort of trauma from the past that must have happened to her.

We just lost one of ours of 15 years... so sad. Still tear up thinking about him. I feel bad for his brother though, I can tell he is lonely. He is also 15. They sure do leave an impression.

My heart goes out to both of you. Such a loss after so many years 😢 Pippin is such a great cat, that I cannot imagine him not being with us. The thought of that is quite scary. This breed make such great companions.

I adopted him from Pet Co.pet store 4 yrs ago.He has a special place In my heart.His past owners gave him up to Pet Co.to find him a home who had patients to deal with him They couldn't I can .I love him He loves me affectionately

Lia is the sweetest cat we have ever had, like a shadow when she is awake, she is now 12 years old, I hope she lives a lot longer

I have a 4 years old Mia lady and she is sooo outgoing, glue 24/7 friend. When I’m sick she sticks to me to death, sometimes it’s even overdoing. But she’s so lovely. Follows me all around.

My male kitten is definitely more active and crazy in the day time and sleeps at night. I also have a 13 year old female and she is exactly how you describe her.

Let me help every one here: there is no set difference in personality between males and females. They are individuals just like we are.

I'll go with female because there are times ( however little it is), but there might be times during the day our house will be empty safe for our dogs, so never 100% alone, but sometimes people can be off. Also we want a cat who will love the entire family. Your video helped me a lot, I knew some but now I'm 100% sure. Thank you.

I love the females it's true they don't get as big as the males but I still love them it's not I don't like the males I'm just used to having female cats you take care and God bless

That's amazing 🤩 .... you have been very lucky as a US study stated that 33.3% of this breed are lapcats, whereas 33.3% are not! The final 33.4% enjoy cuddles on your lap, on their terms!

Sassy Girl was a very stubborn lady. She would sit in the window and meow until we came home from the neighbors. She was klutzy and a clown. Weighed 22 lbs and looked like a silver cocker spaniel dog. I miss that chirp in the AM and at feeding time/

What age do males start spraying?

Im lucky enuf to have a sweetheart of a Female Maine Coon. She is about 3 , & very feisty & caring & loving. She fits your size scale of the male for size & weight tho .

I had a male and he constantly going outside and keep away for 3 days and sometimes a week. Since I had a female she is so dependent and comes home every day

I dont want to nueter my male, how can I keep him from spraying?

Get a baby brother for Pips so we can see extended videos of them wrestling and playing! Female cats sometimes become a lot less playful after about 2 yo (a generalization of course but rooted in some truth).

We have been pondering whether to do this for a while. In the future we will likely adopt a Maine Coon, i'm just not sure when 🐈 😺

Personnaly, I prefer females. Yeah the male is bigger but I just loved mine. She was not that big. She weight about 12 pounds and yes she was very independant but very affectionate and stuborn at times and she would brood when I didn't give her what she wanted. 😛😜😂😂😂

As we have made the decision to take a female or male 🤔we take both, brother and sister 🥰and this was the defently the best we can do., they are so lovely and spend us so much fun and love, but it's a lot of work the fur is not easy to make it always in good shape. Our Gipsy is a gray one and Gismo is a Rad one they are 1.5 Jears old and in a few months number three is coming this will be another male and he is a white one we are so happy with that gentle giants 🥰 Sorry for the bad English liebe grüße aus Deutschland the crasy German Coonie family 😻

A reputable breeder will not sell their kittens for less than 2k each. Also, they should not go to their new homes until 12 weeks. We have a large female, almost 10 pounds and only 5 months old. She is amazing.

The maine coon that i decided to purchase is $2,500 All the breeders that i found sold their kittens for more than $1,500 i didn't find any at $1000, does anybody know a breeder with that price? pls let me know ;-;
