Amazing to see Si Gung at 70+ looking so well. I trained with MSKFS in both Brisbane & Perth. I studied for many years, this was 20 years ago now. I was a blue belt, & about to grade for purple belt but unfortunately I had to go back to Qld for family reasons. I was at that time the first girl to begin training in the Perth school as an Instructor. I remember receiving my green belt from Si Gung, which was a proud moment for me. This brings video back a lot of great memories for me. Respect!

If you are relying on technique to survive an encounter then you have some learning to do, it is not the issue of technique it is the issue of application. If you can't hammer in a nail you don't blame the hammer.

I also was a student in the Valley back in the 80's and 90's and remember when they moved address from Chinatown to the building directly behind where I work at Brunswick Street. I preferred the Chinatown site - much bigger space to work with. And I loved meeting Si Gung Malcolm Sue :)

What I love most is that MalcolmSueKungFuSch treats each person who comments with respect, even when they are being slandered, and there is a subtle challenge to test the doubters to try it for themselves. For that reason alone, I respect whoever maintains this channel.

Malcolm sue's style looks more like tong long than henry sue's does, and Malcolm sue doesn't even call his system tong long. Malcolm sue is such a great master, I even heard he beat bob jones in a real life challenge match.

+Scott Moscos under the teaching of Nat Yuen, Malcolm sue being the oldest son in the Sue-tin family was heir to the Tong Long system. it was Malcolm who was to take the title of Tong Long Master. However some things happened and long story short Henry (malcolms younger brother) took the position of Tong Long master and succeeded Nat Yuen. Malcolm fused all different Kung Fu styles together and created Ging Mo Kune. he took this to Perth where he eventually lost interest after his son Gawain Seized control of the art. Henry remained in Brisbane and taught Tong Long in its traditional style.

to my last post i will continue...i left because i was having more arguments with my instructors than i was actually learning something because of how the usages and movements were not making proper sence in terms of practicallity. also i left because i was mugged on my way to class one afternoon. i broke the arm of one attacker broke the nose of the second and hospitalised the third. i did not use any ging mo whatsoever... police didnt press charges and i made the call.. class was useless now.

Hi Deech. yes anyone can SHOUT too. You are here because you appreciate social media in society. I do respect all. I respect Volvo cars as much as I respect Ferrari's. The videos shown on youtube are an advertisement yes?? If I want a fast powerful car which would I choose based on the advertisements?? If there are promises which cannot be demonstrated in the ad , should I trust this or go with what can be demonstrated. No disrespect, but we are in 2015 , not the mid 1900's. Cheers

You can certainly try, if you've never wrestled it will be about 5 seconds between you being on your back and a real fighter knocking every one of your teeth out with an elbow.

I would love to meet Si Gung in person some day ! His teachings echoed thru my teacher not only physically, but, spiritually and phylosophically and are practical in everyway. I've lost count the amount of times "The penny dropped" for me whilst training Ging Mo Kune . I learnt Ging Mo Kune so I wouldn't have to fight or destroy myself to condition body parts that can't be conditioned.Once you learn there is no going back! Respect to Si Gung Malcolm Sue and to every other fighting style :]

I was a long-term and loyal student in Brisbane, both at Chinatown and Brunswick Street premises. It is sad that the school in Brissie has since closed down. I now live in Europe and cross my fingers every day that Si Gung Malcolm Sue will open a school close to my home. I miss his methods.

i spent 3 years of my life at the MSKFS in the sweatbox of elder st and within those 3 years i held myself back from grading untill i knew i had each belt level near to second nature. i recieved my purple belt and could do all forms blindfolded. when the school changed ownership to Gawain sue, his delusions of love and peace and philosophy (to the extent of leaving out forms and changing move sets) made this diluted new Ging Mo useless to all practicallity.

I trained Malcolm Sue 20 years ago in the valley then went to Paul Ema in Wynnum so much has been lost you guys move like a tree so stiff nothing like what we learnt. Malcolm sue went all down hill when they brought in teaching people on TV sets in the hall.

@umbadooki as per my last reply this one time i tried using ging mo i tried a gow choy and lost a tooth when he uppercutted my jaw. i tried a pock, i had my arm grabbed and i was flipped. i tried using ging mo... its useless... and i dedicated a lot of effort to learning black, yellow, green, blue and purple over 3 years. shame really. im just saying it does not work for me. thats all. it might work wonders for you...

It works...but self defence style, not actual match type fighting....I used it working the doors in late 80s to 90s...but when I had to actually fight with the other person ready, I used Muay Thai...coz MSKF, and Tong long don't really spar realistically, it's all just jongs and shit....so they have no idea about timing and distancing, and dynamic force against them....but for just pre emptied strikes, Tong long is fine, it's got a lot of power...if U manage to connect that is😊

I studied Toney Conley's Lin Wan Som Sao Gung Fu in Brisbane, Is this style simular? I would like to follow along the same lines. I like a style that has historical, and philosophical aspects rooted with in. I now live in Perth, any adivce on this form of Gung Fu would be appreciated. Is it Southern or Northen in historical origin? Does it work with Qigong to help one grow internal exercise that uses movement and breath control to manipulate the flow of Chi. I thank you for your help in advance.

Lin wan is based on how Dennis Sue Tin fights, according to Tony himself. Dennis studied under Malcolm. Dennis taught Tony Tong Long. Tony created Lin Wan. He made Dennis the Grandmaster of the style. However, Dennis,Ging Mo, or any other branches of Tong Long have nothing to do with Lin Wan. Lin Wan is purely Tony Conley's creation. It's roots, obviously comes from Tong Long.

Why not head down and give it a try instead of commenting on 2 minutes of promo video. If you try it and it's not for you then good, but just maybe it will change your way of thinking and benefit you for the rest of your days. Have a go, cant hurt.

@aussiemantis there was nothing in my post that suggested or encouraged debate. Nor did I question the prowess of your SiFu. I do not understand why any member of the martial arts community would slander another art. My thought is we should pull together rather than to stand apart.

i dont know what this whole heroin thing is but i can say for the school's sake that my father used to do this alot we still have the old VCR training tapes haha but from iron bar training and everything else he learnt i would say that he has a very good chance of winning a fight if you started it

Paul Brennan has the literal original Hong Kong tong long. I trained briefly with Ip Shui in HK in the 90's and Brennan is the real deal for that lineage. Not one thing changed from the original.

I'm surprised people still believe garbage like this is effective in a real fight, traditional martial arts had a chance to prove their effectiveness 20 years ago when the UFC began with absolutely no rules which favoured these styles, and they failed miserably because no matter how good you are at catching a slow motion punch, you can't stop a very good grappler getting you on the floor and applying a devastatingly painful submission.

@kitlosis ging mo was useless for me. martial arts is an individual learning experience. i found it did nothing for me. and every fight i have been in, i find im winning (excaping with my life intact) or removing an agressor without any use of any ging mo.

You call MMA a sport, but as I said before the original MMA was in fact NHB, very few rules and as close to a street fight as you can get. Yet no TMA ever succeeded. Lyoto Machida is the only TMA to find success in MMA, because he actually studied multiple arts, rather than drink the kool aid of one style. Look at what is taught to Army Combatitives and Special Forces now, it's basically MMA.
