I'm not going to lie...this was the HARDEST 29 minutes interview to listen to with Jess saying "hmm", "wow" & "yeah" EVERY 3 SECONDS drove me up the wall. She's funny & does a GREAT job with her segment "Jess fix my mess". But Jess IS A MESS with interviews so far. She needs more training!

THIS. You can tell she's way out of her comfort zone. These are "grown folks conversations" and Jess is still a bit green on certain topics. She can give you a young, street take, but when it comes to serious issues -- I do not want to hear her opinion! I'm surprised they let her up here for this. Maybe it's for training, but lowkey, I think they just want her to go viral for saying something crazy, as always. She needs to reevaluate how badly she wants this gig because they might be trying to play her. But if she agreed to come up there and make herself look a lil (you know)....she really played herself.

Facts! And that's the key part: training. We should be focusing on placing gun control into 3 things: 1) You know what you're doing 2) You won't do anything illegal 3) You understand the consequences and can show restraint. These are similar principles to martial arts.

Its truly an Honor for Mr. Gladwell to even mention ER Drs like myself who are literally trying to survive ourselves. We fight these issues but more importantly we get the closest views of what lead to these societal problems and how we can potentially fix them. Mr Gladwell was one of the few ppl with a platform who ask questions, genuinely looking for an answer to violence. I hope to have him back to see what this looks like daily to see true violence and then come out in the communities and see how the few of us trying to change it get little support. So much more work to do!

Why is a Canadian coming to talk to Americans about our gun laws? You can tell how disconnected he is that he thinks that because six people have a gun on a subway and there’s going to be a shoot out, what he doesn’t realize is that the more people have guns the more polite people tend to be because they know they can’t be messing around. Legal responsible gun owners don’t start shoot outs in subways.

Scary how Malcolm claims to be unknowledgeable when it comes to Israel/Palestine, when in 2013 it was stated that "Malcolm Gladwell seems to believe that Israel has become a Goliath but he doesn’t think American readers are “self-critical” enough to absorb this truth." The fact that someone like him is still afraid to talk honestly is a problem.

Why are Canadians not as "gun obsessed" as Americans? The fact that they didn't fight for their independence, nor have to fight to keep their country from splitting apart probably has something to do with it. Americans understand that their country wouldn't exist if the people were disarmed, the same isn't true for Canada.

His argument against guns in New York is crazy. People on the Subway would carry guns to protect themselves. He's making an argument as if people are not getting robbed and assaulted every day? Another note, police officers in most cases are required to shoot a minimum of 50 to 100 rounds a year, if you go to the gun range, you know that's not a lot of time in the gun range. So most cops are not very proficient shooting nationwide. I really wish the breakfast club would actually bring an actual gun rights advocate and a gun control advocate on their show to debate common sense issues.

Gun control laws that would make a difference: 1) Ban concealable weapons, including handguns; this would be constitutional as the 2A is about citizen defense of THE STATE, and handguns are not required nor commonly used for this purpose 2) Raise age to possess or purchase a gun or ammo to 25yo--there are lots of age limits related to rights, so this would also be constitutional

A rifle caliber is more effective in stopping someone with a handgun caliber. The reason why handguns are used far more often than long guns isn't due to people getting shot more than once. The problem comes because handguns are far more portable and accessible to those willing to use such items in crime.
