Kaz, being 2 hours late is too much and should not be acceptable. For me 15-30 minutes is still acceptable. Later than that is very rude especially if you’re paying for the service. I don’t think it’s common in Malaysia to be late as long as 2 hours.

On being punctual, it also depends on what context you’re in and who you’re with. Some Malaysians can be very punctual even for social gatherings and they get annoyed if you’re even five minutes late. You may risk getting a serious scolding. We can be punctual when we want to, e.g. going to the movies, or going for dinner or a sports game at a pre-booked time. But most times we’re just lazy, unprofessional or apathetic, e.g. being late for wedding dinners, or like your plumber showing up after two hours. Really there’s no excuse for that.

For instance the city hall, Docomo/phone line issue, there are many other things slow here in Japan too. If I'm planning things on my own or if it's something casual, where we're not on time limit, I'd be as slow as I can, cause I hate rushing. yes in malaysia race issue is a real thing. the malays are racist, chinese are racist, indians are racist, everyone is racist. and then when we meet each other in real life, nothing actually happened, everyone get along just fine. the concept of racism is there in each of us, but nobody really dare to bring it out open in real life coz most of the people are polite. though some people do likes to play the race issue, especially related to politics. but in the end we all know it's all mostly about money and jealousy. so yeah, racism is alive and well in malaysia, but not really.

This region is known as The Malay Archipelago..,stretching from Hawaii to Madagascar. Majority of the Filipinos are from the Malay race/ blood line. Philippines = the country. Filipinos = their Nationalilty Malay = race..

Actually, there are still differences between Malay and Filipino. But when people see this Filipina in public, they're probably going to assumes she's Malay. I think Filipinos look closer to Kadazan-Dusun if we look deeper into it.

@@Hellibra Stop playing race theory game! We're living in the modern world. Filipinos today have diverse ancestry, hence their bloodline can be quite different from that of Malays today who probably have different admixture. This Filipina girl, for example, look distinguishable from Malays: i.pinimg.com/736x/95/76/3e/95763e7710fdd212bd6888628f4dffca.jpg I guess u could say she probably have Chinese ancestry but u can find many Filipina girls who look like that.

Actually large majority of these providers are quite punctual give and take 10-15 mins. If these providers late for half an hour or more, they will get bad feedback

Basic way how to eat malay dishes. Any soup or 'kuah' need pour on rice.. Then sambal or budu or cincaluk need 'touch' by ulam or any grilled fish or meat. All of its mix on one spoon. Thats why we use hand. For big bite!

In Malaysia punctual is crucial but some of the people still take it lightly. Mostly Malay (I'm Malay).

"Malaysian time", your perspective is not wrong🤣, but in my perspective, in my personal perspective ok mostly like in my environment when you are in age around 30 or 30++, we already married and have kids, like 1 kid or 2 or 3, some advance got 4. Well, with kids even we wake up early, there is usualy drama sending kids to school, no joke🤣🤣🤣. kids crying, traffic jam and stuffs. So bosses have that problem and workers face the same thing with kids. So, thats is how we get the understanding, kids will be kids, drama. Then, finish work immediately have to go to daycare, every 30 minute late will cost more for the parent. Kids will complain, if parent being late. Well...hahaha

I think there are also several races in the Philippines but perhaps the other races are really in the minority, maybe less than 10%. Just like in Indonesia and these minorities have assimilated more completely with the majority. For example, the Chinese in Indonesia have Indonesian sounding names instead of Chinese names. The “minorities” in Malaysia are bigger in number and there is perhaps this reluctance to assimilate so totally. It could also be due to the Islamic Law (that is being practiced much more effectively in Malaysia as compared with other countries) that requires a non Muslim to convert to Islam before they can marry a Muslim. This could be another reason as to why you still don’t see interracial marriages that often here even after almost 65 years of independence, and therefore the “races” still do not mix and are pretty much still heterogeneous. You can put oil and water in a container, they don’t explode when they come together but they just stay separate quietly.
